Orange pour with watery head and lace. Resiny hops and caramel malt. Light caramel malt with a nice light resiny bitter. Medium bodied to watery but a very nice PA. Frank (4236) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 14, 2012
Cloudy orange. Medium white head. Big hops in the nose, loads of pine and herbs. Nice nose but the flavor is a little dry and grassy for my taste. Light and drinkable but not completely my style. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - FEB 18, 2011
Deep, dull orange pour with a medium eggshell colored head. Aroma of orange sherbet, pine, some spruce, earthy hoppiness. light grapefruit. Some apricot and melon as well. Fruit cocktail. Flavor of orange, apricot and fruit cocktail, mild pineapple and juicy mango. Medium bitterness, nice flavorful hop presence. Medium bodied, nice carbonation. Finishes perfectly dry and hoppy. Really excellent session pale ale. drewbeerme (3921) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 26, 2011
Growler. Pours amber with white head. Darker than dc/malt twin? Aroma has juicy fruit and citrusy hop notes, toffee sugar notes. Flavors has sweet cotton candy balanced by grapefruit and juicy fruit hop notes. Finishes like dc. Aggressive bitterness here but crystal malt is tasted reminds me of a drier SN torpedo and I’m not buying this is just daisy cutter malt bill with change of hops. Why is this so red? alobar (3918) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 3, 2012
Pours an orange-yellow color with a white head. Aroma of flowers, citrus, and hops. Lots of hop flavor with citrus upfront. Really nice beer!

can at RBWG-thanks for this! copper hue with a small soapy head. big floral nose-green onions, citrus, melons. very balances session pale here-sweet with enough bitter hops to dry it out in the finish. i could drink this all day long! I need to seek this out when i get to IL (homestate). Look for another re-rate! chibuck (3521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 30, 2011
Growler thanks to Chris, drank from a Cigar City snifter... Pours a dark orange, hint of brown, clear. A light off white head rises about a finger, ok cap, no lacing... The aroma has a ton of citra and a hint of pine, light malt backbone... The taste is pretty good, but something that can get lost amount other beers, now wow factor. A lot of the citra hops are gone, what you get is more tropical fruits, some toffee and a light pint of finish. Doesn’t have the dry feel or taste I was expecting. Drinkable but just blah.
I must admit that I was very excited to get to the Hoppy Birthday so I just blew right through this. Good, not great, not in the league of HB or Daisy Cutter, however I’d drink it again on tap. Capa (3448) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Golden orange with a white head. Aroma was citrus and tropical fruits, light sweetness, floral notes. Medium thin body. Flavor was heavy on the hops with light malt backbone. Tropical and citrus fruit tones, floral, sweet candied malts. Love how much flavor is packed into the low abv. Delicious. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Growler pour from Half Acre. Pours a deep gold, slightly darker than Daisy Cutter with a great sticky offwhite head. Nose gushes big tropical citrus, woody notes and a bit of a cattiness. Noted green onion hints as well. Some earthy malt. On tasting, intensely hoppy and dry with a great citrusy quality and a crispness. Light sweetness to the malt as well that really rounds it out. Pretty fantastic pale ale that is right up there with daisy cutter... pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 19, 2011
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2011 Growler thanks to a gracious ba... Pours a medium semi-transparent orange brown hue and topped with a thin light just off-white head... Aroma is fresh with citra with a dank herbaceousness. Solid... Flavors are much of the same with citra and fresh herbalness upfront, tea and earth on the backend. Pale biscuity backbone at the tailend. Mild and tamed bitterness through the finish. Quality session apa that packs quite the flavorful punch from such a small package. i could drink lots of this offering and hope they continue to make this during the spring and summer months. I like this as much as or perhaps even more so than DC.
