About half way through one of the growlers I picked up. Pours very dark brown with nice large dark tan head. Beautiful looking stout. Aromas of roasted malts and chocolate. Flavors of roasted malt and unsweetened chocolate. A bit of lactose, but not much. Finish dry and roasty. Mouthfeel is a thin. A little thicker body and we would have a real winner. Solid beer none-the-less.

bottle. pours a nice black with a dark brown head. smells of chocolate and a bit of roasty smoke. flavor is very milky, with a nice chocolate. finishes with an over the top roast flavor that lingers. body and mouthfeel were perfect for the flavors. if the roast was toned down this would be an amazing beer. that being said, it is still pretty fucking good.

6ish pour at Revolution Brewery grand opening. Black with a tan foamy head, quickly fading to leave some lace on the plastic cup. Smells of sweet chocolate, roasted characters and espresso. Medium bodied with a residual sweetness and a noble hop bitterness. Smells better than it tastes.

Black with fair, creamy, tan head (but tasting from a growler) / Big, earthy nose of cigar box and coffee / Medium body, a touch watery, chewy, with good balance and finish / Flavors of tobacco and dark roast coffee, with unsweetened chocolate notes / Potentially very good, just needs to correct the body problems.

Enjoyed on tap at Goose Island Stout Fest 2012 in Chicago, IL. This was one of the more enjoyable stouts that I had throughout the day. App is pitch black, moderate to thick consistency, rich tan head. Aroma of chocolate, bit of lactose, cocoa, decent amount going on with the sweetness but it didnt smell too much like a candy bar. Taste is very good, bit of peanuts, like Nutella, rich like a peanut butter consistency, very good stuff.

Nice espresso head with great lacing on top of a dark murky pour. Aroma of nutty chocolate. Creamy mouth. Taste is full of nut and chocolate. Slight bitter finish mellows the sweetness. Nicely balanced.

Bomber from the brewery. Pours a dark and opaque stouty brown-black, thin espresso colored head that dissipated quickly. Nose is chocolate, caramel, hint of butterscotchy diacetyl, and dark roast. Mouth is smooth, but a bit watery -- particularly for a stout. Surprisingly dry (wheres that lactose theyre advertising) and most of the chocolate flavor s overwhelmed by the roasty notes. More like a Chocolate Economy Car. Not bad, but not mnd-blowing.

Pours deep black with notes of cocoa and roasted grain. The roast deepens with sweet notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Nice deep long finish.
