COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Space, an India Pale Ale that we brewed a version of before, but under the name Daly Double. This beer is a tribute to a friend that passed away last year. Space was his nickname as a young man and this beer will be a regular offering at our brewery only; our way of keeping him a regular.

It’s with great honor and sadness that we announce an upcoming special release beer. We’re brewing The Daly Double, an India Pale Ale brewed in memoriam of a friend of Half Acre Beer Co.Terry Daly passed away suddenly after spending a lot of time at our brewery over the last few years. Terry was a fan of music, geometry, his two Huskies, Moon & Luna, and amply hopped craft beer. We’re pretty sure that Terry was the foremost consumer of Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. Terry began popping in to buy sixtels of Daisy and before long he stopped by almost everyday just to chew the fat. After a while, he had the authority to walk back into the brewery and go into the cold room to reserve himself kegs and manage his own kegerator inventory for his home Daisy Cutter supply. Being a bright dude, we put him to work wiring things or lending a hand doing whatever needed to be done. He’d turn others on to our beer and took pride in his connection to our brewery. All good breweries acquire people. These people become the larger body that is the meat of your brewing company. Not the tanks or the beers, but the heart of what we do. It has a pulse of its own and its one of the best things about brewing beer for a living. The Daly Double is for Terry and all the other folks that give breweries life . To Terry, Huzzah!

Tap at the source during GLBTQ. 10oz pour. Deeper orange hue than you see with traditional IPAs. Nice off white head and lacing. Aroma of tropical fruits and maybe a hint of pine. Taste is on the sweeter end of the spectrum with a grapefruit and pineapple quality. Surprisingly easy to drink without pushing the scale too much in either bitter or sweet direction. This is the only thing I like about the concept of space...using it to name beers.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy orange. Smells of citrus and a little pine. Touch of caramel malt. Tastes citrusy. Orange and grapefruit behind it. Bready and toasty malt. Mild bitterness. Medium body. Very good, but not my favorite of their offerings.

Sample at the brewpub. Hazy amber-orange pour with a medium bone white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

A floral aroma that is quite nice. This IPA is much fruitier and lighter in body than the Vallejo. Still has good bitterness in the back end.

Draft. Amber copper. Has a nice hop taste. A mango dry piney taste. Has a orangey mango taste. Not a typical IPA. This is excellent.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a relatively clear orange amber with a medium sized beige head. Gentle earthy citrus on the nose, thick malty background. Medium bodied, soft malt and a nice soft grapefruit note. Gentle grapefruit and citrus into the finish, a hint of alcohol peeks out at the end.

Hazy orange. Mango aroma but it’s very light. Boozy, bitter, medicinal and astringent. Pune needle intensity. Lingering bitter finish
