Bottled. Pours hazy brown. Has a citrus smell. Has a medium sweet palate. Upfront hop taste after taste is a hint of blueberries. Not sweet blueberries but like a frozen blueberry. Over all really Ipa ryecatcher (1479) - Bridgeport, Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 13, 2016
Draught. Poured from a howler procured at the Lincoln Ave. tap room. Pours a deep, slightly hazy, honey-gold color with a generous pink-tinged frothy head. Nose is fruity, cakey malt, some berries, caramel, toast. Mouth is medium bodied, mildly sweet, hints of berries, melon, crackers, toasted bread at the finish. Decent. Draft on tap at the brewery tap room (Chicago, IL). Neat little offering here. Pours a deeper copper tinged hue, a decent haziness and darker middle with that purple berry glow coming home to roost. Winter sunset glow with came off white tan slanted head atop that is creamy, sizable, retains well enough. Aromas show more Mosaic hop than anything, juicy tropical bent with some decent floral bitterness. Subtle blueberry pulp, Carmelized malts and biscuit behind a fairly potent and fresh hopping. A bit earthy, floral, tropical and grapefruit laden as it settles in. Initial is firmly bitter, floral and pithy potency off the bat with some tropical wafts, mango and pineapple meet that cooler, darker blueberry essence and they tangle nicely. Soapy, floral, citric and bitter. The malt base never really gets sweet as displayed in the nose. The blueberry gives some flavor up front and seems to soften the blow into the backend. Lots of fruity Mosaic, firm potent bitterness, lingering blueberry liveliness. That mineral and tropical flavor lingers on. A fun experiment that certainly melds two different worlds. While the blueberry compliments (and colors) especially on the nose, this thing ends up very Mosaic dominant. And there ain’t nothing wrong with that. Pretty pour, touch sweeter nose, firm mosaic and fresh hop appeal throughout. Tasty stuff. kaser (6473) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 18, 2016
Citrus and blueberry aroma. Darker orange with white head. Super fruity but not too much - great balance of IPA and the blueberry. Delicious. Hoppy and smooth. Had this as part of a flight at Half Acre.
