COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As the mercury falls we inevitably see the heft in our beers climb. As the bulky beers begin to brew we all size up our holiday season. Family members begin to make their pilgrimage to the patch of land they call home, excessive meals are planned, gluttony ensues. We welcome the cold and greet these holiday-rich days with Quakerbridge Barley Wine. An incarnation of a Half Acre favorite, Marty Stouffer’s Wild America Barley Wine, this weighty beer is a choose-your-own-adventure experience. Freshly plugged, this beer is a gooney 10% hop guster to bring your holiday retreat to its knees, but time allows this brew to round and settle into an ever maltier bomb of balance. Whether your mug is beside a Thanksgiving gobbler or a holiday ham, let our bottled elixir join you and your family on its collision course of celebration. So, pull a cork and belly up to home – this hulk of a holiday hazer will settle any family retreat into a warming submission hold of mirth.

A: The beer pours a hazy dark amber color with a rather tall off-white head. S: Decently hoppy on the aroma with some grass, citrus peel, and a somewhat mild pine. There is a nice bit of caramel, toffee, and toasted bread maltiness as well. The aroma also has a very perfumey quality to it. T: The hop profile on the palate is quite floral and perfumey, but also has some solid pine flavor to it. As expected, plenty of malt character in the form of toffee, caramel, and toasted bread. A somewhat mild hop bitterness. M: The body and carbonation are both medium. O: Sort of in between the malty and hoppy side of barleywines. Good, but would prefer it to be more of one or the other.
