Great pale yellow pour. Nice lite smell of fruit. Very little carbonation. You can taste the peaches and faint taste of floral. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Clear gold pour. Aroma of pears, yeast, light caramel. Flavor is loaded with yeast, pears, light caramel. Nice beer! Good stuff. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Thanks emacgee for sharing! Relatively clear orange with a medium sized white head, pretty good retention. Nose is slightly hoppy, a bit watery, minerally, some apple/pear. Very dry flavor, more pear, minerals. Solid effort. auerbrau (3203) - Ithaca, New York, USA - SEP 28, 2011
22oz Bottle. Thanks for sharing Sean! Subtle pine and citrus
nose, with more of that flinty, tropical papaya quality. I
expected this to be crazy, wild, sexy cool and it was
delicately restrained. The subtlest undertone of pear combines
with a reigned in Saison yeast and nice floating overtones of
good tropical hops. Impressed by the control exhibited in this.
It could have been a fruity flavor soup. Nice work. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - SEP 17, 2011
22oz bottle. Pours a mostly clear, bright yellow-gold colored body with a steady rising carbonation and a two finger-width, very dense and foamy, pure white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Very pretty beer. Aroma is bright fruits with lots of pear, sweeter lemon-citrus, and perfumey florals. A light grassy hop, pineapple, a touch of tart apple, saison yeast, and lightly sweetened bready pale malts. Flavor is just as nice. Lots of juicy pears, sweeter citrus with some pineapple, lemon, and a touch of grapefruit, and some apple. Smooth bready malts come in after the fruits along with some grass, florals, and yeast. Hops kick it up at the end as this dries very nicely with a moderate bitterness and a pleasant yeasty, spicy crispness. Lots of fruits and some bready malts join the yeast and hops leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium-light, very smooth and creamy body with a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a damn good saison. I really liked this one. Lots of juicy, brighter fruits with a soft bready malt and a very enjoyable, well-hopped, dry, yeasty finish. The distinct pear really put this over-the-top for me. Well done!

Pale gold with good off-white head. Nose of banana, clove, and pine. Decent initial hop bite with tastes of ripe berries and black pepper. More hop than I’m used to in a saison. Medium body, good carbonation, lasting hop bitterness. Good. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 11, 2011
Draft at Jerry’s. Pale gold with decent, creamy, white head / Bright nose of weed and pear / Medium body, vibrant and acidic, with good balance and bitter finish / Elegant, bright, flavors of weed, pear, peach, lemon, and coriander / A stylish saison with a unique flavor profile. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 9, 2011
A: The pour on this one is a pale yellow color with a rather tall white head.
S: A very nice fruit aroma to start this one off. Tons of pears and apples with a light dosing of spice. The hop notes are subtle and there is plenty of yeast and bread, the latter of which adds a bit of sweetness.
T: As with the aroma, a strong flavor of pear, apple, and even some citrus and sweet apple juice. There is a very light pepper flavor as well as some bread and sweet, pale malts. There is a fair bit of yeast and a light hop bitterness.
M: The body is medium and the carbonation is just above medium.
O: I really enjoyed the fruit notes that this beer had. A bit sweet for how I like my saisons, but overall very well done. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 6, 2011
Draft at Haymarket. Finally had a chance to try the HA version. Pours a lightly hazed deep gold with a sticky white head. Nose is nice, tart and fruity. Light sweetness and the mustiness associated with pears. Some light spicy notes, but more about that fruity side. On tasting, round a full palate, dry finish. More of the pear notes lend an interesting counterpoint to the yeast and graininess. Lightly tart with a nice and clean finish. Well played. paintedmaple (671) - People’s Republic of Bloomington, Indiana, USA - SEP 4, 2011
Brilliant Saison - had the Short’s version at the Brewpub. The sublime pear was the perfect compliment to the hoppy bitterness and slight sourness. Killer good.
