Greatest beer ever! Light pinky hues and hopped overboard. Sweetness from real guava. 17thfloor (2444) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 11, 2010
Growler and a couple bottles. This stuff is heaven, especially right out of the tank. Pours a rich glowing golden orange with a medium white fizzy head. Aroma of just a hint of alcohol, bright tangy guava, love that citra hop dry hopping, delicate sweetness with a hint of caramel, huge citrus, light a more citric dreadnaught, so clean, honeydew, fresh grass. Flavor follows but with a bigger than expected citric kick, tangy and tart, nice grassy hops, plenty of supporting tropical fruits, light grass, just light amount of balancing bubblegum bitterness, some grainy biscuitiness towards the finish, love the guava aftertaste that lingers with a wonderful sour tartness. Medium/light bodied, well attenuated leaving just the right amount of sweetness, some corse fizzy carbonation, supremely drinkable. A true treat! Way to go gentlemen! Courtesy of northernbrews. Dark golden, decent head. Aroma has great citrus fruit character up front. I guess it’s guava, I need to try one. Faint pine resin, not much malt in aroma. Flavor has a light malt character up front, big citrus fruits through the middle and back end. I’m guessing guava has a slight tart character to it? There is some mouth watering tartness in the finish I really like. Medium carbonation, soft billowy mouthfeel. Would really dig a higher level of carbonation to make this pop more, but very nice brew overall. emacgee (4711) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - JAN 2, 2011
Pours a hazy peachy gold with one finger of dense creamy sandstone head. Nose is fantastic with a clean definitive guava character complimented perfectly by resinous citrusy hops and a mild spice. Flavor is bossome, notes of sweet and acidic fruit balanced by notes of grapefruit zest, starfruit, and candy. Dry medium bodied palate with the perfect level of bitterness. An amazing IPA. Bottle: The aroma has lots of citrus and grapefruit with guava and light mango. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a small white head. The flavor starts with lots of citrus and light mango and guava. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit, light tartness, and faint pine. Light bodied with soft carbonation.
Pour is clear orange with a small white head. Really amazing aroma with loads of pine and citrus fruit. I’ve never had guava, so i imagine that this is what it tastes like with big pine and citrus hop flavors present as well. Fruity and slightly dry, bitter finish. Another fantastic beer from half acre! Thanks again JW! mtjoseph (244) - Murderapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 7, 2010
Bomber courtesy of mattb83. Pours a nice, clean, golden orange with a small head. Wow! One hell of a nose! A big intense, fruity nose with notes of guava, grapefruit, oranges, ugli fruit, kiwi, yet having a big hop presence! Fucking awesome. Flavor is all fruit mentioned above with nice grassy notes and a solid, masked malt backbone. This is everything I like in an IPA x10. Juicy, fruity, bright, citrusy, slightly bitter, fantastic. I have a boner.
