Growler provided by Alex...Pours a dark brown that is semi transparent and much lighter in in the light. A light tan head that is gone quickly, but nice lacing...The aroma is roasted, smoke, earth, a touch of sweetness...The taste is pretty good, an almost session porter to me. Super easy to drink, the taste is more earth, and roast with dark chocolate, the smoke is gone. We crushed this growler pretty fast. While not amazing its a flavorful easy drinker.

Draft and growler. Fantastic porter, full and rich flavored but dry overall and very drinkable. It’s best after warming and getting some air, a nice grassy rich chocolate emerges. Could use a little less hard roast and bitterness though as it is pronounced by the drier body. Overall very good. envane (586) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 12, 2010
Opaque black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee and earth. Flavor is semi-dry with chocolate notes and a dry, resiny hop finish. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2010
Growler from the brewery (Chicago, IL). Pours a darker brownish black hue with a moderate cakey tan head, dies to a small layer, laces small. Aromas are chocolate, caramel, brown malts, earthy with some dry hops, florals and dry roasty malts. Touches of coffee, big chocolate, bakers cocoa, sweet and bitter mix. Medium bodied, full flavors on the palate. Earthy malts, dry and light sweetness. Finish is dry and bitter cocoa lingering, floral and dry hops, faint pine, pretty pronounced bitterness keeps the sweetness at bay. Quite tasty, and a good bottle candidate. Great hop slanted porter, dry and earthy with a big blast of bakers chocolate satan165 (1020) - River Grove, Illinois, USA - NOV 21, 2010
growler punch #1 on second card. aroma is clean top soil, chocolate with some grainness/bitterness, high fat content brownies tamped with hard joe. appearance is dead opaque with great head that recedes to mess of lacing and consistent thick film. flavor is aggressive hopping coupled with resident fudge, near pine with savory component that feeds hunger marries well with soft chocolate. ultra drinkable even in the largest of serving sizes.

Growler from the brewery. Dark brown pour with nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, some roast and earth. Flavor is dry with a lot of chocolate. Nice, earthiness, pronounced bitterness from the hops. Not too much, though. The hop bitterness is understated and very nice. Extremely easy to drink. Very smooth. Excellent porter.
