COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early Fall has farmers picking whole cone hops and shipping them to us to brew a wet hop beer. We kick up a black beer with a very sticky character. Beware of the StickyFat Bear.

A specialty brew. Grab it when you see it. 7% ABV.

UPDATE: Half Acre differentiates between their vintages based solely on fresh hop quantities. The 2011 has 100% "wet" hops. The 2010 had a different quantity. 2012 has a different amount of hops. Under our guidelines these are still the same beer.

On tap at Half Acre brewery. Pours black with a small tan head, lacing holds forever. Nose shows roasted malts, coffee and pine hops. Smells fantastic. Taste is dominated by bitter coffee and roasted malts, struggling to find some hops, bitter finish. Great beer but would like it a little more hoppy ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This one is complex. Little spicy with hints of chocolate power this one. Pours almost black with a tan head. Had at the half acre tap room. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep brown with 1 finger of tan head. Nose and taste are of dirty gritty earthy malts, with a nice dank piney hop edge. Very drinkable, I like malts, so I dig the mail tier nature of this beer at this moment in time. Another solid beer from HA, what else is new.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2015 From Half Acre. Not as hoppy or black as Id expect for a Black IPA. More like that hoppy brown ale you see on the west coast sometimes. Still it was pretty good. 2013 bottle. Serving: Bottle

Dark brown, not as sweet as expected but more bitter and hoppy than expected. I enjoy it.

Draft @ the brewery. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy weak earthy caramel aroma. Fruity malty spicy hoppy bitter citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty weak piney hoppy bitter finish.

22 oz bomber with another great label. Even a raccoon in there. Pours pitch black with a small, white head. Very fruity aroma, plus a good amount of roast... and some DMS. Flavor is very clean and this beer is ridiculously drinkable. Still not sold on the Black IPA style, but this one helps.

Bomber from HABC. Pours a deep brownish amber with a decent off-white head, good retention and lacing. Nose is caramel, some roast, lightly resinous hops -- FYI I expected this one to be a lot hoppier. Mouth is medium bodied, coffee, some malt, more caramel, hoppy bittereness. Finishes kind of falls flat. This one reminds me of the Mr. Oroboros, only without all the hoopla (this one usually draws a crowd on release, with bottle/growler limits, but I dont really know why). No worries though, I still love your beers fellas and will continue making the trip up from the South Side.
