3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear, darker amber with a thin white head. The aroma is a bit unusual. It is heavy in spice and rosemary, some smokiness, and a little bit of cinnamon and ginger. It gives of the nose of a Christmas beer. Lots of rosemary comes out in the taste. With the presence of this flavor, the rest is very similar to the aroma. Although I really don’t find any smoky elements in the taste. More light in body, more of a slick texture, with average carbonation. The aftertaste is spices and rosemary. This one is different overall. But there isn’t anything terribly special about this one.
Idea that sounds better than it tastes. Looks good with a head that lasts, some lace and a hazy honey amber color. A faint spicy aroma. Flavor is fruity sweet some smoke some bitter some carbonic Tang. Body is good. The combination just doesn't quite bland or balance.

Sweetgrass, rosemary, chicken, and mace. Clear pinkish amber with a thin creamy off white head. Lots of green herbs, primarily rosemary, it’s quite weird. Ferris (17087) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 13, 2014
Bottle - Pale malts and tons of rosemary along with other herbs and spices. Clearish gold with a decent beige head. Herbal and pale malts. A foodie beer for sure, but on its own a bit too much herbs. dresden (1581) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - JUL 13, 2014
Aroma us burnt tires, some light plastic. Caraway, bay leaf, naval kind of weird soup stock. It’s interesting but a bit of a miss Mittenator (1612) - Michigan, USA - JAN 4, 2014
Bomber split four ways. Light copper with an off white head. Smells like straight allspice and cinnamon. Tastes like potpourri, old smoke and band aids.

22 oz. bottle shared by jmborggren. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. The aroma has caramel malt, light smoke, a mix of spices and a touch of peat. The flavor, again has peat , spices, caramel malts, mild smoke, a mild mint from the caraway seeds and rosemary. A strange combination. Tmoney99 (15119) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 24, 2013
Bottle. Poured clear dark copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate complex spice, floral and ginger aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice ginger sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. 22 ounce bottle
A very strange beer indeed. I grabbed this based on the Half Acre reputation and name. It did not disappoint although I’m not sure I would buy another. It certainly brings something new to the Chicago beer scene.
Aroma / Appearance - The bronze carbonated base bubbles under an ivory head. Full of warmth the glowing body attracts the eye. Nutmeg, cinnamon, and throat lozenges are a mixture of appealing and odd. The nose is bright and tough to pigeonhole.
Flavor / Palate - The peppery malts have a strong medicinal aspect that is at first distracting. Somehow though it began to grow on me. Cinnamon aspects bring to mind a Great Lakes Christmas Ale clone. I’ve had better but this would be world class with the cough syrup hints.
