COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OK warriors, we’re co-hosting a beer that’s to be delivered from our brew deck to your ceremonial chalice. We’ve again brewed with our cohorts at Three Floyds Brewing Co and have given birth to the sludge of angels, Anicca India Pale. Anicca IPA is single hopped snake juice showcasing the Mosaic hop, a plant throwing off a cornucopia of fruit flavors. Bitter sweet and full of force, this IPA bends your brain into a tropical storm of writhing glory. As the philosophy explains, Anicca will come and go, so come sip this before all is gone.

Admin Note: Please be aware that Three Floyds also has a version of this beer brewed at their own brewery. All Half Acre ratings go here.

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar.
Pours hazy copper color with a small head. Aroma of floral hops, pine needles, orange peel and citrus fruits. Flavour of citrus fruits, caramel malts, some goose berries and nettle. Very nice hop profile. Nice.

Tap at Churchkey with a few pours, thanks to drowland for letting me try originally. Pours a clear deep orange to bright red. Medium white foam. Webby lacing. Nose is very intense: juicy passionfruit, gooseberry, papaya. Tropical all the way. Taste is dustier, nutty, dry, lemon tea acidity and tannins. Still pretty nice, aroma was out of control.

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big white fruit, orange peel, slight grapefruit into nice pineapple, slight mango into a bit of yeast, bread. Taste is a mix of pineapple, mango, some orange into a bit of yeast, bread, slight grapefruit, finishing bitter. Tasty.

On tap at Mikkeller, Copenhagen. Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, piney hops under a sweet malty body. Taste is sweet overall, herbal and resiny, sticky mouthfeel, a bit out of focus, still a nice ipa.

Sampled during CBC 2013. Amber orange pour with a nice khaki head and good lacing. Lots of tropical fruits on the aroma, light and dark, with some citrus and just enough bready malts to back it. Good flavor as well, some lemon, plenty of tropical fruit, a decent balance of bitter and doughy maltiness. Tasty!

lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 2, 2013
Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours a hazy amber colour with a white head. Aroma of strong floral hops, caramel and grapefruit. Flavour of caramel malts, grapefruit, mandarin orange and hay. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a lingering bitter and pungent citrusy finish. Really tasty. Classic Three Floyds hops.

Draught @ Mikkeller, Copenhagen

Pours dark orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of fruity hops, caramely malts, sweetish notes. Taste is fruity and hoppy with some citrus, caramel and malts. Finish is hoppy and fruity with some malty notes. Nice, but doesn’t feel super fresh. Still tasty, though.

Couple drafts on tap at the Tap Room (Chicago, IL). Really excited for this beast. Pours a deep copper amber pour, good haziness, frothy tannish head. Firm ring of a layer, laces pretty well. Good deeper hue, glow and haziness. Aromas are a rich melange of fruit, citrus and tropical fruit elements. Melon, grapefruit, and tangerine, good mangos and papaya. A touch sweet but rich with doughy and bready malts, bit of biscuits. Nice flavors as initial pushes with peaches, grapefruit, bitter pine and florals. Front end is bready, pale malts, and grainy. Some good florals. Middle and backend are really where this beer shines. Fuzzy peach, tropical fruit, lots of florals, piney elements. White grape, melon, firmer florals and bitter resiny hops hit the palate. Real lush and bitter with good flavors, fruit, strongest bitterness into the backend and mellow body. The sweetness from the malt doesn’t crop up and get more intense like I’d expect. Good hop flavors, the Mosaic shines here. Big fruit, bigger bitterness offers good girth into the backend with the smaller body. Good flavors, hops, and bitterness all around. Well done, flavors are potent, bitter slanted by a good deal as we move back. Really damn good beer. Darker than I expected, good lacing, great aromas and flavors, fairly complex. Nice job, guys. I can see why Drew doesn’t like it.. but I think it’s damn good albeit an odd malt bill/profile overall. I think Kan said it best when he said "Alpha King with Mosaic Hops"..

Grapefruit and apricot taste. Candy sweet backbone. Smell is orange vanilla and tropical. This is my wheelhouse beer. Fantastic.
