3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. aroma is simple fudge, light roast and cleaner graininess amidst metallic twinge. appearance is dead opaque with muddled ruby edges, wispy head, disintegrating floating island of carb, heavier body unlightened by carb, tiny ring. flavor is deeper fudge, advanced by light fusels, fleeting caramel, echo of graininess from back of aroma.
22oz bottle, don’t remember when I got it. Pours a dark, cola brown color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, toffee, brown sugar. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, chocolate, toffee, a hint of boozy heat, with a sweet, toffee finish. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - NOV 1, 2013
On tap at the taproom. Rating from notes. Pours a rich brown color with a medium light brown head. Aroma of big brown malts, roast, brown sugar. Some hazenlnut and molasses notes as well, maybe a touch of wooden like bitterness. Flavor is big, malty, sweet. Some roast notes balance things out to where I would describe it as bordering on balanced. Medium bodied, somewhat chalky mouthfeel, average carbonation. Finishes with some tobacco and chocolate. Nice brew. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 4, 2013
Draft at Memphis. Pours a brownish red with bubbly tan head and webbed lacing. Notes of roasted malt, dark fruits, caramel. Medium body, dry bittern finish. kimjongill (207) - - JUN 2, 2013
From tap. Odd, almost champagne like aroma. Looks spot on for a brown ale. Mouthfeel is light and sparkly, which doesn’t mesh with the style. Taste is mediocre at best. The yeast and hops get in the way, with the malt falling back. anders37 (27627) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 9, 2013
