Sample at Half Acre. Pours clear gold with a white head. Aroma of light hops and some malt - little bit of lemon and some spice. Crisp flavor with a little bit of bitterness. Not a bad brew. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 17, 2010
Sampled on tap at the brewery (Chicago, IL). Pours a muted yellow gold, lighter and hazed, a gentle carbonation with a frothy moderate white head that laces well, stays a decent level. Aromas are earthy noble hops, grass, weeds, bready cereal malts, a faint lemon, a touch of spicy pepper and a decent lemon quality. Initial mirror this, lemon and pepper spiced hops, grass and light florals, mellow cereal and grainy malts, a touch of heavier biscuit, moving back into a pretty impressive bitterness for the style. Lemon, grassy weeds, dandelion, with bready malts beneath. An impressive lager with flavorful hops, spicy pepper, and bready doughy malts coming in beneath. Quality, no lie, and one of the best domestic examples I’ve found. satan165 (1020) - River Grove, Illinois, USA - APR 8, 2010
aroma is grassy with wet cereal. appearance is translucent gold with good carb and equal lacing. flavor is refreshing bitterness up front that hits the throat then washes away clean. grassy hops really start to show in aroma over time.
