Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a malty grainy aroma with some floral hoppy hints. Sweetish malty grainy flavor with some hints of hops. Has a sweetish malty grainy finish. bhensonb (15251) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 7, 2008
Bomber from BevMo. Light orange gold color with a decent white head. Aroma of fruity hop. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is pale malt with nicely fruity hop. Could be a tad floral. Finish is mildly bitter. It’s quite pleasant. marcus (10232) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 18, 2008
This clear yellow beer poured with a sizeable white foamy head and a faint fruity aroma. There is a slightly sweet and fruity caramel malt flavor with some hop bitterness. It is a decent beer but does not live up to its label. bb (9311) - Alamo, California, USA - OCT 18, 2008
Bottle. Bottle called Obama Ale (there’s a McCain Ale that’s the same beer). Pale golden color with a whitish head. Floral and light malt aroma. Floral, light malt flavor with light honey. Medium bodied. Easy drinking. Honey, light malt, light floral and light grass lingers. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUN 2, 2009
Bottle listed as "Maverick’s Alection 08 Winner Obama ’08 Presidential Ale"....Great way to represent a president...with a pale lager...are they try to mock him, or do they seriously think this is a good tribute beer? Upon opening the cap there was hardly any noise of carbonation. The beer poured with no head at all. Aroma of plastic, peanut shells, grass, corn and acetaldehyde. Taste is bitter, grassy with noticeable diacetyl. Just bad, not much else to say. Carbonation is well below normal volumes for a pale lager, but that is fine by me. Thin as hell this beer is an abomination...or, perhaps, an Obamanation? Mr. Beer.. meet Mr. Drain...come to think of it, this tastes as if it was made in a Mr. Beer. Jacob, you know what I am talking about.

Bottle:   Vibrant golden, soft haze, beaucoup carbonation, large frothy white head, decent lacing.
Musty nose, very basement like.   Not what I was expecting.   Very slight earthiness, some floral aspects...
all very light but they are there.   Bubbley in the tongue, some wet blanket, straw/hay.   Very lively on the
tongue.   Has this powdery sugar aspect on the back end, much like whiffing a freshly opened packet of kool-aid.
Moderate body, prickly mouthfeel.   Decent, but for a Pale Lager it comes across more as an Ale.   A
little musty, earthy perhaps, but its light and fairly refreshing. JohnnyJ (5562) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 7, 2009
Maverick’s Obama lager. Pours into a dippled mug. Slightly hazy yellow pour. Grain, light fruit, and hops. Some floral notes. Not terrible, but deffinitely not good. I geuss this is what obama’s sweat tastes like. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - JUN 7, 2009
Clear dark yellow with a fizzy white head. Sweet malty aroma with earthy hoppy notes. crisp citrus and mild barley taste with a perfumey finish. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - FEB 14, 2009
Tasted 2/14/2009. This pale lager pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle of Mavericks Obama 08). Large sized white foamy head. The aroma is floral and hoppy, with a hint of orange. A medium to light bodied lager. The malts are fruity and sweet, a touch of cereal. The hops are floral and crisp, a touch spicy. Kind of hoppy for a lager, but it works. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice hints of orange and orange rind. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JAN 2, 2009
Tap at the brewpub, this was called Harbor Lights. The body was lightly hazy gold with a white head. The aroma was bready with oranges and grass. The taste was bitter lemon peels with a grassy finish.
