Draft sample at IBGW 2011. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy hop bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

brewpub sampler - For ABV, this one’s on the line between IPA and double IPA, but at 7.7% and 80 IBUs, I’ll go with the latter. It pours a lightly hazy copper with a long lasting, white head. There’s a nice citrus hops aroma. The flavor is of course intensely hopped but there’s some good malt holding it up. I really thought the malt profile tasted just like the Elwood’s IPA. What we’ve got is a hopped up version. It’s very good though doesn’t make it into great for the style.
