COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Demeter, goddess of the harvest is the inspiration for this Wheatwine from Half Pints Brewing Company. A base of malted wheat, barley, and wildflower honey celebrate the fruit of the land, while Centennial and Columbus hops lend their firmly citrus undertones to the finish of this beer. As we all know, the gods can be vengeful at times, so share this extra strong ale amongst friends served in brandy glasses at 10 C. Try it with Vietnamese Fresh Rolls with a spicy peanut sauce, aged French Goat’s Cheese or Duck a L’orange.

Tehhairy (5) - Manitoba, - DEC 10, 2013
Pours a nice amber with thin but very flavourful white head, while the beer itself is quite thick . Smells of floral honey with a definite hop presence. 2013 has more hop straight off and a touch less sweet than previous years. Truly one of if not my favourite brews. How the hop stays in with age more than previous years

Bottle at Black Christmas 2017
Hazy amber color. Sweet and rich malt, some caramelized pieneapple, toffee, and maybe bourbon, vanilla.
Very nice.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is lightly oxidized, with caramel, apple juice, and toasted bread. Flavour is medium-heavy sweet, with caramel, brown sugar and apple juice. Not the most complex beer of the style, but it’s interesting. Solid.

January 21, 2014 - with blankboy, jercraigs & mabel - bomber. Hazy amber with an average off-white head. Aroma reminds me of those HeBrew ales: sweet, boozy, floral (7-). Taste follows, even more aggressively sweet. Slick, weak carbonation, almost harshly boozy/sweet in the finish.

[6141-20140121] Bottle. Pine needle hoppy wood fruit aroma. Slightly hazy, orange brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Bitter orange wood cream flavour. Medium-full body. Flavourful, concentrated orange spikes. (8/3/8/3/16) 3.8+

(w/ blankboy, HogTownHarry, jercraigs)

Overheard: "Stop hogging all the duck a l’orange." "I’d like to hog your duck a l’orange."

Thanks to Lizotte for this. Pours dark gold with small white wisp and carbonation. Aroma is sweet white grapes and honey with some citrus hop notes. Taste is resinous, citrus hops, sweet honey and a small bite of alcohol. Pretty good.

Very sweet, Fair but spotty lacing. Sweet dark fruity aroma, underlying citrus hop and alcohol aromas. Light bitter dark fruit up front with a medium citrus hop on the finish. Soft carbonation and oily texture on the palate.

Bouteille avec Patrick. Une robe orangée avec un filet de mousse. Un nez sucré d’orange et de miel. Une bouche sucrée aux saveurs d’orange. Pas si pire.

Red brown and hazy colour. Light white head. Aroma holds a sweetness with floral notes. Very sweet taste with strong honey and floral notes. Sweetness of honey is almost overpowering on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, shared with my in laws. This bottle has 18 months cellar age-- it is from the first batch put out by Half Pints. I drank it fresh but didn’t rate it, and as I recall, I thought it to be sweet and hot and a bit harsh. Well, this baby has aged beautifully! Orange-kissed gold with a soft dense light gold head. Rich bready malty aroma, honey undertones. Soft, slightly chewy malts, sweet with notes of floral honey. Not a hint of alcohol. So smooth and silky, rich and sweet. Definitely improved with age. Sublime.
