Wow! This has a huge head of whiskey and black malts. Pours with a huge head and is super dark. Pretty good lacing. There is a perfect menagerie of black malts, Whiskey barrel and %. Usually I wouldn’t like to smell and taste so much % but it works with the whiskey flavour in there, it warms up your esophagus. Only looses marks because the % is so noticeable.

bottle at RBSG 2010 - Pours black with a dark tan head. It has an aroma of dark roast malt, bourbon, and coffee. The excellent flavor is of dark roast malt and coffee. The bourbon is quite subdued. The body is pleasantly full. Very good.

650ml brown bottle. Black pour, opaque. Small creamy light brown coloured head which fades into a ring. No lacing. Chocolate malt nose, some smoke, light hint of alcohol. Flavour has intense chocolate malt, black coffee, toffee, citrus hops, brown sugar. Finish is roasty and chocolatey, late alcohol fade out. Some oaky dryness. Bitterness is there in the background. Smooth mouthfeel, full body, soft carbonation. Lovely big, mixed style stout. Comes together very well, amazing how drinkable this is.

Bottle shared during AZRBWG. Pour is deep brown/black with a khaki head. Aroma shows notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, bourbon, and a touch of smoke. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of dark fruit and a hint of nuttiness.

Thanks to Alex for this rare one, a 6 month aged stout in Crown Royal, gotta love that, big shout out to my homeboy DA the CR king....HUGE carbonation on this one, I can only pour about four onces with at least ten inches of head, really good retention, falls nice with a puffy eraser head top. Tons of lacing...Aroma is awesome, smells like crown, tons of sweet alcohol, wood, lots of vanilla...The taste is still pretty sweet, oak and vanilla, but not as strong, after such a great aroma, a slight let down...Feel is silky smoth, light warmness just smoothness. A huge surprise, especially after a couple so-so reviews. Worth seeking out

sampled during the 2011 RBWG weekendthe last vintage thanks to Kyle, pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma is pine, roast, coffee and tobacco. Flavor is dry as hell with lots of roast, maybe a touch of smoke and earthen hops in the finish. Really nice.

Bottle. Dark chocolate pour, a little lasting head and an aroma of a little sweet bourbon and chocolate. Flavor is also plenty of bourbon/whiskey, chocolate, malt and a slight hop bite. The aftertaste was warming booze and had a little too much effervesence. A really good beer, I’m hoping I can get my hands on another one someday!

Pours deep black with nice fizzy tan head, thanks Greg! Aroma has notes of chocolate, sweet toffee, some roast notes. Taste is sweet toffee, chocolate, leading into roast and bitter coffee. Nice brew, bit effervescent.

Bottle to snifter. Pour is black brown with big soapy kahki head that lasts. Aroma is bitter sweet candy toffee. Taste is bitter and little sour with a nice coco toffee flavor. Palate medium to full feel and finishes dry.

Nearly black, tan head. Cocoa, whiskey, light espresso, roasted malt and molasses nose. Flavor is perfectly balanced between roasted malt, chocolate and whiskey notes. Damn good. Thanks savvy!
