Bottle. Brown pour. Malty, lightly fruity nose. Flavour is malt, brown sugar, dried fruits. Nice thick feel and alcohol warmth. Not overly complex, but tasty and enjoyable.

Couleur rouge/marron sombre avec une mousse moyenne marron. L’arôme du malt sucré. Le goût est du malt sucré avec un peu de sucre brun. Très sucré. C’est bonne, mais un peu trop sucré pour boire plus qu’une!

Draft sample. Reddish brown in color with medium carbonation. Aromas are a mix of fruity caramels and bready malts, along with a bit of fusel alcohol. Fairly heavy bodied, with a whole wheat bread dough, more caramel, molasses, and trail mix flavor. Definitely a punch in the face malt wise, although I would have preferred a bit less fruit. Not bad for the style.

Got hooked up with this one from Steve! (Cards04) Thanks again! Pours a dark mahogany thats not quite see through with a nice creamy one finger off white head. The aroma is very nice. Hot bread in a glass...yup! Some vinous notes maybe, some alcohol, sweet notes (burnt caramel or molasses type). Slight graininess as well but otherwise very clean smelling for a lager. The first thing you notice on this one when you drink it is the body!! Chewy as all get up! Big bread taste, loads of malt, caramel. Bitter toward the finish with a slight alcohol twinge that gives way to a more sweet bread after taste. Not as smooth as some of the more popular "or" beers from the fall (salvator, celebrator, etc) but still very delicious and an awesome beer from Winnipeg!

This is a big bock. High alcohol tends to overpower. Pours copper/red with a slight head. Dried fruit sweetness dominates. Some malt shines through. This is not a beer you can ignore. Small sips with some rich cheese would be the way to go here. Maybe add some figs to the plate.

65 cl bottle, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. From Eric. Cheers. Deep brown, sweet molasses and prune aroma, sweet flavour, brown sugar and clove. Finish is a little boozy, more raisin. Nice.

Bottle shared at Bar Volo. Looks and smells bang on, with thick brown pour and rich malty aroma. However thinner than expected mouthfeel for style and not complex.

pushkinwow (2962) - Ottawa, CANADA - MAY 20, 2013
Bomber from tbadiuk as part of CanBIF 2013. Somewhat murky mahogany with a biege head that fades to a ring. Malty with a nice plum and unripe fig presence, some caramel and hints of alcohol. Moderate body and carbonation, sweet, more alcohol, finish seems unbalanced and a little thin with some smoke, caramel, and fruit but not the thickness that the aroma promises.
