This beer here, this beer I had @ the Grand Tasting... Compliments of some kind soul... that I assume is from the good old days. RobertDale (6851) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - JUL 6, 2014
Pours basically black with a small but well retained head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma is chocolate and roasty with some sweeter raisin and port wine notes. It’s defiantly got some coffee going on in there... it’s a big bouquet on this one.
The flavor is rich & chocolaty... like the the point of fudge like. IT’s got a good bit of vanilla and warming booziness. It’s got a nice coffee like roastiness throughout. The barrel character is nicely integrated here for sure.
Sample at RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours almost black with a decent tan head. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and malt. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, roasted malt, and wood. Very good. vyvvy (6731) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 1, 2014
Sampled at the RBSG14 Grand Tasting - Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has chocolate, vanilla, oak and light grainy wood. It has a full rich body with soft carbonation. The flavor starts with oak, roast, bitterness and dark chocolate. The finish is rough and shows alcohol and grainy oak. Enjoyable imperial stout. crossovert (13909) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 22, 2014
650ml bottle. Black pour. Tons of chocoalte notes, spcie notes, bourbon is not too heavy, not alcoholic or boozy. Loved it.

Bottle @ GT’s Cat Cabana. Thanks, GT. Black pour with a khaki head. Fumy alcohol aroma up front. Roasted malt, bourbon, brandy, and grape. Some vanilla, brown sugar, and chocolate syrup. A bit of graham cracker, as well. The flavor is pleasantly sweet. Lots of bourbon, vanilla, and graham cracker. Some roasted malt, a bit of bitter dark chocolate, sweet chocolate syrup, and burnt sugar. Good stuff. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 28, 2014

>> Pours inky with red foam, spotty lacing. Nose is cognac barrel, intense fumey cognac, rum raisin, tomato style bourbon, huge dark alcohol. Taste is rum raisin, graham cracker, malted milk balls, baking chocolate. Rich, bitter palate with no sugar. Excellent.
Enjoyed this, but perhaps not quite as much as others. All the hallmark IRS flavours without really coming out and giving it’s own take on the style. Still a wonderfully crafted, almost faultless beer. But sometimes the small faults are the defining characteristics in the masterpiece. GranvilleTim (1857) - Granville, Illinois, USA - APR 20, 2014
Huge thanks to Kbudd19! Pour is deep black with a brown head. Aroma hits you during the pour Roasted malt, dark fruit, bourbon, oak. The aroma just invites you to take that first sip. Taste is creamy, oak, fruit, bourbon, roasted malt, char, black patent malt bitterness, hops at the end. Lacing registers on each sip. Very tasty! Leaves a wonderful mouth feel and aftertaste. Yeah Canada!
