Pours an opaque black with a frothy dark brown head and tons of sticky lace. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts and oak. Taste is bourbon, roasted malts, alcohol, bitter chocolate and a nice warming from the alcohol on the finish. Excellent barrel aged imperial stout in terms of balance and flavor. Bottle. This is my third or fourth time having this, and I think it is time I rate it. Hearty near-black pour with a finely bubbled brown head that is slow to form but enduring. Aroma shows prominent bourbon barrel traits married to dense roast and chocolate notes. The palate is rich and silky, featuring sweet notes of toasted marshmallow, vanilla, coconut, treacle, some fudgey chocolate, hard roast. Very soft and rounded, not at all harsh. Also incredibly balanced, with the bourbon character in perfect marriage to the stout, complimenting one another and each elevating the other. 650 mL bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a snifter. Pours deep reddish black with a moderate tan head that fades slowly and leaves a small amount of lace. On the nose there are big notes of bourbon barrel, oak and vanilla, along with molasses, earth and roast malts. The flavour is moderately sweet with huge vanilla and bourbon barrel, along with molasses and roast malts. The finish is long and malty with big vanilla-bourbon notes. On the palate it is full in body with a smooth, milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice bourbon-aged imperial stout. The barrels are very prominent, but it remains well rounded. 2013-05-19 KyotoLefty (10262) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 8, 2013

Pitch black color, white head. Lovely nose of bourbon, sweet chocolate nose with tons caramel and nuts. Very smooth, bourbon, so well balanced . Lingering bourbon dark chocolate finish with a touch of oak. Really really fantastic. Boutip (6374) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 6, 2013
Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma of bourbon with deep vanilla notes, some roasted malt with big black chocolate notes. Taste is also dominated by deep roasted malt notes with loads of black chocolates notes and some very well-balanced notes of bourbon with sumptuous vanilla notes. Body is quite full with rich creamy body and good carbonation for style with not much alcohol being apparent. Well-balanced imperial stout with superior used of barrel-aging treatment. Everything big expected from a RIS, with coconut, and big bitterness from hops (to point of astringency). Above average mouthfeel. Roasty.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of pure molasses, bourbon barrels, vanilla and treacle. Flavour is similar, bringing out notes of molasses, loads of bourbon barrels, vanilla and booze. This is quite boozy, but amazingly complex - full of molasses and bourbon/vanilla. Awesome stuff - the best of this brewery. thb (829) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 1, 2013
Thick and black, minimal head. Strong dark chocolate and coffee. Toast. Christmas pudding. Vanilla. Oak. Alcohol well masked. A really, really tasty beer. Sweetness is maybe a touch cloying on the finish.
