650ml brown bottle. Label is photocopied and doesnít have a bar code, itís also attached with 2 thick strips of packing tape...9.6 % abv, not 11.6%...uhm...is this really this beer...? Black pour, canít see through this. Tiny brown head that just holds on long enough to be noticed. Nose has excellent rich bourbon, big alcohol but itís ok as it was expected, super rich, deep chocolate. Taste has rich dark and roasted malts, deep dark chocolate and woody barrel notes are noticeable. Bitterness is a bit milder than expected. The finish has deep roasted malts, very woody, dryness with chocolate notes. Full mouthfeel, carbonation supports the beer appropriately. Final thoughts are this beer is an excellent rich bourbon barrel stout, great for sipping or pulling extended gulps out of the glass. It goes down with ease either way, smoothness is there but the beer shows it elements well, the drinkability is top notch. Simply put itís one of the better bourbon barrel aged stouts Iíve had. Rewarding.
650 ml bottle (9.6% ABV): shared with minutemat on 4th Aug 2016: cheers Mat (and duffman). What a cracking beer to finish the tasting session on: really enjoyed this smooth tasty brew. Solid tanned head on the dark brown body. Chocolate flavoured bourbon in both the nose and taste, vanilla and mild coffee notes in the flavour too. A delight to drink and savour. Alcohol just about noticeable in the aftertaste, otherwise hidden by the rich body depth. minutemat (5420) - Shrewsbury, Shropshire, ENGLAND - AUG 7, 2016
Bomber, shared with Blackhaddock in his man cave. Many thanks to Duffman for this. Pours dark brown with large frothy tan head. Aroma is prominent bourbon, vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate. Taste continues, with a sumptuously smooth chocolatey bourbon character. A great end to the evening. drfabulous (7817) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - AUG 6, 2016
22 ounce bottle. Carbonation quickly fades. Boozy. Sticky. Some big barrel notes. Oil slick. Bit of burnt chocolate in the back. A sipper. dchmela (3062) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 18, 2016
Bottle from Steve! Pours thick and black. Roasted barley, soy sauce and dark fruit, red wine notes in aroma. Thick chewy malt, roasted grain, oak barrel and light fruit notes in the taste. Has a dark toasty finish with soy notes. Very good. fiulijn (20427) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 31, 2015

Black color, small head. Deep aroma, dark malts and chocolate; cookies, a bit of vanilla. Good strength, lean, not thick; rich dark chocolate flavor, chocolate cookies, vanilla (from the barrel), malt, a touch of coffee; comforting warming alcohol.
Bottle opened up at the Ottawa 2015 Holiday gathering via CANBIF, I think this year so fiery1 but have be wrong. Dark pour with a thin chocolate head covering. Lovely aroma of dark chocolate, lightly roasted malt, oak, vanilla, warming booze, molasses; low carbonation and full bodied, slightly sweet and a nice booziness, a bit of fruit on the finish, very good. rejtable (2625) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 20, 2015

Really solid beer. Has wonderful chocolate/coffee taste with some fruit and whisky notes. jsquire (4425) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - APR 9, 2015
Dark beer with a short foamy brown head. Nice warming nose of bourbon and dried fruit. This is a great example of using a barrel to enhance a beer. Buttery bourbon alcohol, rich vanilla, molasses sweetness and some dark toast. Very smooth and easy to drink.
