Powertrip (1000) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 1, 2011
Single bottle purchased from Kensington Wine Market in Calgary, AB on 02/23/2011. Colour is pleasent medium orange with gold and yellow traces. Low soft head. Nose: Hops, sugar, yeast, pine needles. Nose actually fades as I swirl this one...odd. Taste: Light sweet, light sour, medium bitter. Hops throughout the palate. Roasted malt and nut come mid-palate to the finish. A touch of citrus muddles about. Mouth feel is exceptional - soft and creamy but without thick lacing. A very decent IPA. lazyrocky (2) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 21, 2011 does not count
Wonderful IPA! I just enjoyed a 12 ounce bottle and will definitely buy more. I really enjoyed the hops. Slightly bitter with subtle hints of coffee. patricks110 (2495) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 30, 2010
A really solid beer. The pour is bright amber with golden and orange notes. Two fingers of white head subsides to a thin cap. Aroma is sweet grassy hops with a mild citric element. The taste is moderately malty with a nice hop at the finish. Pretty boring beer however. lovehops (3) - Medicine Hat, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 3, 2010 does not count
Great Stuff...Good bang for your buck....I have chatted with the Brewmaster via email....Great guy.....I really like the the fact they dry hop this beer at the end, it gives so much more hoppy flavor!....I like the fact every beer in the brewery is bottled by hand.....Some dedicated guy’s for sure!!

Pours a slight hazy amber colour with a medium off-white head. Floral and spruce hop aroma, slight caramel malt undertones. Taste has a light sweetness to it, fairly hoppy and bitter with a dry finish. Light-medium body, creamy / syrupy mouth feel and average carbonation. Overall a nice IPA, good beer.

The flavor is made of roasted malt, pine, grapefruit. Some light carmel in the background. It seems to be well balanced and nothing over powering.
The aroma has some citrus notes but the hop’s steal the show
Pours an amber color with a white head that quickly vanishes to a thin ring head with a fair amount of lacing. There is some sediment in the bottom so be careful when pouring.
It finishes well a roasted malt feeling but a lingering bitterness from the hops. I am new to the IPA scene so trying to keep an open mind.

Many bottles at Chancey Smith’s- Hazed orange with an almost ruby hue. Pours two fingers of sticky froth that laces well. Initially I get peach and mango in the nose, but it is quickly displaced by spice and floral, herbal hops. The flavour profile focuses on spicy and herbal hops with rose petal, grapefruit pith, and mango sweetness. Quite spicy finish with a marked bitterness that lasts. A good effort from this brewer. At Pub Italia. Pours pale copper, translucent. Small head (.5 cm). Quite long-lasting though. Heavy hops aroma (mainly citrus, some spruce).
Taste is slighty roasted malt, and some hints of resin as well. Gets more and more floral. Too bad the malt taste is too slight. Moderately bitter. Quite a long finish here. Too much carbonation. All in all, pretty good -- I just don’t see this one as anything special as far as IPA are concerned. Certainly well-made --- a well-made IPA-by-numbers. Appearance : Clear pale amber HUGE foamy head.
Aroma : Earthy, floral and bready. Something rubbery also. Fades away after some time. Nose get more resinous. Fruity also.
Taste : Slightly citrusy and slightly resinous. Earthy and floral. Very faint bitterness. Taste is quite good actually. Fruity.
Overall : Hops are rather faint but this is very drinkable and refreshing. Carbonation may be a bit too high. Nice drinkable brew.
