UPDATED: FEB 14, 2014 Big roasty malts on the nose. This beer sits on the boundary of being either a very large stout, or on the more restrained style of imperial.

Not that any of this really matters as I believe this beer is about to sell out and we will not have ten people to review it. Sad panda.

RERATE: Sadly looks like I was right. This is a very drinkable impy stout that while not being like motor oil is a good example of a high alc stout.

Bottle from the source. Almost completely black color, brown head, solid lacing. Aroma of fresh pine, cocoa. Taste is rich burnt espresso, dark unsweetened cocoa. Delicious.

On tap at OGH. Dark and thick with a strong head. Lots of toast and nutty flavours up front with a boozy port finish.

Oakes (19010) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 16, 2013
Dark brown, thin head. Aroma is sweet and fudgey. Taste has an earthy, tobaccoey element, with a little stinging malt. Rich bitter finish. Intense. Good stuff.

BeerandBlues2 (13870) - Escondido, California, USA - SEP 28, 2013
Bottle shared by Travlr. Pours opaque black with a medium, frothy tan head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is roast and chocolate malt with prunes and earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with bitter malt and hop balanced, earthy hops and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pdubyah (807) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 5, 2016
This is daily decent, the initial aroma dissipates somewhat and becomes less of a thing, although it was quite nice with a milky chocolate thing. Taste is intriguing, this is rather dry at the finish and there is a lot of sugarness in it. Might just be lightly too bitter to be really enjoyable.

3.7
jinroh (2366) - ESTONIA - JUL 13, 2016
Pours dark brown, coffee, chocololate, sweetish in aroma. Taste is interesting, feels like a double dry Stout. It has roast, chocolate, liquorice, quite light in body,. Not like an Imperial Stout, feels drier and lighter.
