Danish: En engelsk inspireret porter.

Pours a near black body with a small tanned head. Aroma is sweet and roasted with notes of coffee and some thin and sour oaky notes. Medium-bodied, has a creamy mouthfeeling and it’s softly carbonated. Taste quite nice with a nice amount of roasted malts, thin coffee, some licorice hints, chocolate and has a light hopy finish and a dry and almost smoky aftertaste with notes of alcohol.

Tap. Jet black with curtains of light tan lacing after a rich tan head. Lightly roasted aroma with some light sweetness as well. Bready and a bit yeasty to go along with the roast and dark chocolate in the flavor, bit of dark fruit as well. Mediumish body. Not bad stuff at all.

(Bottled, sampled 2010-04-02) Almost black with a large, firm and beige head. Very licoricey nose with sweetish maltiness, some chocolate, and even oakiness. Roasty, slightly burned-charcoaly flavor with sourish maltiness balanced with hefty sweetness. Not much bitterness found underneath all this. Quite full body with soft and low carbonation. This could be a delicious licorice bomb à la Nekron Stout - but it’s not quite balanced enough. Still very good.
