Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hard roasted, light coffee, cresylic acidic. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090516]

Draft. A pitch black beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt and a bit of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt as well medium notes of chocolate and soy sauce leading to a dry, bitter, and roasted finish.

Bottled (thanks Timo A.). Very deep brown, close to black, colour with small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, nuts, some smoked wood and also mild liquorice and some alcohol. Flavour is smoked wood, some grains, ashes and liquorice, leather and some mild alcoholic sweetness as well. Pleasant brew.
