Tastes very sweet, malty, fruity, a bitter and spicy.
Yes a nice bok.
Bottle 30cl. Dark brown, reddish with a light creamy head. Aroma is lovely, with yeasts and sweetness. Taste is spicy with a nice bitterness in the aftertaste. Alcohol is tastable too. thanatosti (1808) - Culemborg, NETHERLANDS - OCT 11, 2014
30 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Alengrin (5779) - BELGIUM - SEP 14, 2014
Dark brown with a beige head. Malty aroma with lots of dark fruits and spices.
Taste is also spicy with a good solid bitterness to it. Thick mouthfeel due to the rye I guess. A real winterwarmer this one.
Rye beer from the brewery in Hulst, with yellowish beige, creamy, stable head and dark burgundy colour, hazy. Sweetish aroma, caramel, nuts, pear, dates, bayleaf (effectively used here), yeast, aromatic hops, bark. Fruity, malty taste, sweetish, chocolatey, honeyish, drying and becoming more spicy towards the finish also due to the rye, soft roasted bitterishness, finish lightly sourish, hop bitter and warmingly alcohol, not acerb. More a Belgian Scotch-style ale than a Bock to me. ShivanDragon (4649) - Leeuwarden, NETHERLANDS - NOV 20, 2013

Slightly unclear red brownish appearance with medium head. Fruity, malty, caramel aroma. Sweet taste, medium body. Overall good and satisfying Dunkler Bock. MarcoDL (5415) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 20, 2013
Yeasty and herbal bock beer. Better than the average bock, thanks to the rye and the herbs. sic1314 (4967) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - OCT 14, 2013
Poured deep, dark reddish amber with a frothy beige head. Aroma of soft, alcohol soaked dark fruit, caramel malt. Medium, moderately lively body, flavour of sweet cherries, plums, slightly nutty. Christos (5897) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - OCT 13, 2013
Bottle of 300 ml at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 8%
Pours a deep amber brown coloured beer, with two fingers of off-white head. Thick with very good retention and heavy lacing on the glass.
Fruity aroma, light caramel, some roasted malts, nice aroma but faint.
Taste is sweet and very fruity. Sugar, stewed fruits, red grapes, light alcohol.
Very thick and full body with perfect carbonation. Kind of sticky on the palate.
Overall a very tasty bock, the reye giving it a most welcomed thickness.
