On tap at the brewery. Almost has a minty complexity -- a really fascinating, original, and delicious combo of flavors.

Tap at Hammerheart. I found some complexity in this beer. Dark red/brown color, hard to tell in the dim lighting. Spicy and herbal qualities, caraway, vegetables, and some sugar. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - FEB 18, 2014
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish black pour with white head, aroma brought notes of aquavit, anise/fennel but it is fairly controlled and not overly booze forward, some caramel, toffee, and smoke notes, hints of spice as well. Taste is decent, some aquavit, spice, earth, caramel, toffee, hints of smoke, slight fruity note, finishing fairly sweet, dry, slightly boozy. BVery (11385) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - FEB 6, 2014
Tap at Hammerheart. Smokey peat and herbal nose. Murky dark brown pour. Small spotty head. Herbal taste with maybe a hint of band-aid? Still good. Nuffield (4202) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JAN 31, 2014
Similar thoughts as the first couple raters. Hazy red; you could tell that there was an Irish red ale as the base, though it isn’t a bad base beer because the akvavit is a somewhat subtle set of flavors. Unique qualities. A little hot. Interesting sipping but not something to have much of in one go. (on tap at Winter Beer Dabbler, January 2014).

Dark brown color with a small head. Herbal aroma (primarily dill and caraway) with some caramel. Some smoke and caramel malt from the base beer remains, but the barrel really herbalized this. Not quite my brand. cubs (10721) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 10, 2014
On tap @ HammerHeart. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a. Brown head. A touch minty / herbal, caraway / greeny spicy, caramel aroma. Flavor is very epic forward with a touch of smoke, lots of greens / herbal, and some toasted malty / caramel / brown sugar notes. Kind of interesting but not something I’d really want to drink a pint of.
