As Wrath stated, "good very cold on a hot day". A bit more taste than your run of the mill American Standard, you could do worse. Wrath (362) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - MAY 9, 2003
For the price a pretty good beer. A little more body and taste thanthe regular. A little sweetness is noticed. Good very cold on a hot day. Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - APR 12, 2003
I can't say this is there best rendition of beer not as good as the regular and as i can see by the other rating's,I'm on the same page as everyone else.Nice golden color, slight head, weak flavor of water and small hop taste nothing special but will do the trick on a hot summer day. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JAN 22, 2003
Not bad for an American standard...but definitely does not taste like it came from the land of clear blue waters. KingPinHead (390) - Des Moines, Washington, USA - SEP 22, 2002
A bit more body and balance than regular Hamm’s, but one can taste the adjunct sweetness more at the same time. In short, drinkable but certainly nothing that would give reason to rush to the market.

Yeesh. Corn flavored. Now, if they got it to taste like ham, now that would be something. Beer Guy99 (251) - Maineville, Ohio, USA - AUG 10, 2002
Ahhh, Hamm’s. I have to say I’m rating the version brewed by Pabst a couple of years ago. I haven’t had it since Miller took over stewardship of the brand. I can only hope they’re not putting Milwaukee’s Best in Hamm’s cans. Under Pabst it was still a very drinkable beer. When Hamm’s made it and then Olympia, it was a damn good beer, easily besting any of the more popular national brands...and one of the early draft beers in a can. Clean, refreshing and always consistent. I have a nostalgic bone for Hamm’s Draft - the beer refreshing! rkn65 (106) - st. clair shores, Michigan, USA - AUG 7, 2002
goes down nice , taste is light but not overcarbonated. duece (103) - Waterford, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 25, 2002
Strong alcohol aroma, but nice color. Taste is simple enough for the style with no unpleasant aftertaste. Definitely not a great beer but exceptional for the price. HammsBear99 (22) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 8, 2002
You can’t go wrong at $4.49 a 12 pack for this taste! Hamms Golden Draft has that old school American lager charm. This beer saved my life my last semester of college when I was broke as a joke. I think Hamms is comparable to any of the other popular beers (Miller or Bud products). I believe that marketing is the key reason people don’t think of Hamms as a ’premium’ beer anymore. Bring back the Bear!!!
