tombyars (1683) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 3, 2012
Tasted this at the Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in July 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Dry dusty hop aroma with green apples present. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a thin digestive biscuit note with a tart redcurrant fruit note. Astringent dusty hops in the long aftertaste overwhelm the malt right through. Finish is dry with walnut notes evident. An ok session bitter but lacking in complexity.

bhensonb (15085) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 21, 2008
Cask at The Ship and Castle in Portsmouth. Along with the Sunday roast. Light amber color with a minimal head. Light fruity aromas. A mild flavor that washed down the beef right well. Liked it. Note from 10/17/2004.

Cask at Artillery Arms, Ramsgate: Bland malty beer. Aroma is a little malt and caramel, flavour much the same. Really doesn’t pull it off though. Wouldn’t drink this again.

Clean gold with a sparkler head and lace. Bland pale bready malt with some very slight hops. Notes of tea and hazelnuts. Faint bitterness in the finish with some more bread. As dull as John Major.
