Funny it´s the light version, but has more alcohol volume in it. Not for drinking with food.

33cl bb08/2016, EU Swap 2015-6 tak skal du have, fonefan. - Note: At a whopping 9,6% "Old Gambrinus Beer Light" is a misnomer, cq a bad translation from Danish "Lys" for Blonde - as opposed to the Old Gambrinus Dark. - Feared the worse at this abv and gamle label (Faxe fumes rise to mind) - but this is actually very drinkable and almost not alcoholic at all. Aroma of barley mash, starchy honey and a little glue. Like a very dry heller Bock, or malty ImpPils. Mainly dry grain and cereal aromas with a good, literal, straigh-edged Saaz bite to it. Almost tonically quenching with a late sweet&sour mash tingle reminiscent of Gutedel.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing!
Pours clear golden colour with a mid-sized to small white head. Aroma of sweet pale malt, strong malt, biscuits. Taste of strong malt, pale malt, a bit grainy, light hops, a bit boozy.

Many thanks to fonefan for this bottle! Sweetish grainy nose. The beer starts sweetish mild, easy to drink with a nice grainy smooth sweetness. Moderate bitter, refreshing though with a nice smooth grainy sweetish ending. Nice balanced!

Bottle. Pours clear golden with small white head. Aroma is sweet malt, apple juice, apple seeds and Belgian abbey ale yeast. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter and light to medium acidic. Body is oily with soft carbonation. Finish is long and balanced sweet and bitter with notes that follow the nose. Well balanced mix between Danish "guldøl" and Belgian Abbey Ale.

Copenhagen 20/6 2016. 33 cl bottle from Meny. A lot of medieval letters and a shield to convey the impression that this is indeed an old Gambrinus Beer. I notice that they call this a "Light" beer. Kind of misleading for a beer with a ABV of 9,6. Pours clear yellow with white head which disappears right after pouring. A lot of carbonation going on. Aroma of sweet malts and a strong whiff of alcohol. Fermented fruit and sweet caramel. Medium carbonation and thick palate. Taste is overly sweet and quite boozy. Sweet and slightly metallic aftertaste. If this is the light version I do not care to taste the heavy one.

ALIBALI (2316) - Kiel, GERMANY - APR 7, 2016
Fast unangenehm.

bursprak (3238) - Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 19, 2016
Bottle split a few ways. A year over BB. Oily golden pour with a frothy off white head. Notes of syrups, sugar, honey, sweat, light hay and some straw. Overly sweet...
