Very dark brown with a thick beige head. The nose is roasted malt, earth, spice, leather, cocoa and caramel. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, decent bitterness, cocoa and some underlying caramel sweetness with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Very drinkable and really well balanced. HDM’s best beer to date. cgarvieuk (24479) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 13, 2013
