Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with medium beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong roast, tobacco, cocoa, bourbon. Medium mouth, vanilla, roast, chocolate, great barrel character but not over boozy, really enjoyed this one. ctipping (2111) - Florida, USA - MAR 21, 2016
750 mL bottle. Doesn’t look like a porter. Deep brown at best. Smell has some light bourbon, light roast, and some light nuttiness. Kinda light smelling in general, considering what it is. Taste is also very light. Cardboard oxidation though. Sweet. Bourbon. Cardboard. A little roast and some brown sugar. Boozy. Medium body. I’d guess this was a richer and more flavorful beer a long time ago. Not so much anymore. JulienHuxley (5843) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 7, 2014
Bottle at another tasting. Clear deep brown copper pour with thin white head. Aroma is really bourbony, tons of sweet vanilla notes, rather light overall. Taste is sweet, really flavorful, more intense than the aroma. Palate is med-light bodied, light carbonation. Nice. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2014
Bottle @ another tasting. Aroma is huge caramel chocolate malt madness, all covered in bourbon vanilla oak liquorice. Pfieuw. Flavour is bourbon, alcohol, roast, molasses, chocolate and more. Nice one. MrHangover (4610) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2014
Bottle @ Another Tasting, courtesy of Vaiz. Pours a very dark brown beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma has touches of vanilla, caramel, light barrel touches. Flavor is very sweet, loads of typical American touches, big vanilla touches. Definitely the barrel is noticeable in the flavor here. Very well balanced. Good stuff going on here, very well balanced.

Bottle shared at Another Tasting thanks to Vaiz. Pours near black with a ring beige head. Aroma of bourbon/vanilla up front with milk chocolate, light roast, leather, light dark fruit notes. Flavor is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation. Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2014
Bottle at Another Tasting, hosted by MrHangover. Bottle bought at beverages4less, San Diego. Clear black pour, thin off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, bourbon, leather, chocolate, coffee and slightly boozy. Flavor is very smooth, bourbon, vanilla and slightly bitter with sweet chocolate. Very delicate and well aged. fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - SEP 1, 2014

Bottle shared by someone at RBWG 2011 from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a smaller tan head. The aroma and flavor had roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla, tobacco, oak, chocolate, caramel, and some espresso. A touch of earthy bitterness cuts the barrel notes at the finish just a bit. Very nice beer. beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - MAY 7, 2014
Bottle #2131/2520. 2013 vintage. Dark mahogany pour. Luscious medium creamy beige head, swirls leaving drapes of lace. Aroma is wonderful. Soft smokey bourbon. Chocolate. Medium coffee. Vanilla compliments. Bourbon barrel leads over sweetness or roastiness. Bourbon Barrel forward but not dominant. Flavor matches. A good medium to medium plus body. Soft and smooth. Great rounded feel. The nicest warming sensation, without a trace of heat. Warming comes hand in hand with the perfect level of medium roastiness. Semi dry, barrel coating. Sweetness is kept in check. Love the spicy smokey bourbon here.
