This fruity, complex ale evolved over time to its present state – hence the name, Slow Roll. In November, we began it as a Belgian-style golden ale. We then racked the beer into bourbon barrels. Six months later, our anniversary beer is ready to perform. Admire the light copper color in your glass. Take in the aromas of pear, banana, and spice, with gentle oak and caramel notes. The first sip will reveal even more nuance, with soft caramel and bourbon in the background. It starts very effervescent, followed by a dry finish. We invite you to celebrate with us and enjoy Slow Roll, a limited edition bottling of our Fifth Anniversary ale.

At the Beer Belly - One Night Stand. Pours a dark amber with hints of red. Aroma is faintly Belgian-esque with spice notes. The taste is quite dry like a white wine. Getting some grape tannin notes as well. Goes through a progression of flavors. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 8, 2013
Tap at H24, Pugafest 2013. Low haze golden pour. Weak foam. Nose is heavy estery, big yellow apple, caramel dipped apple, Taste is sweet, heavy carbonation, caramel apple. Way too sweet. Mild tart apple. bb (9241) - Alamo, California, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Draft. Amber beer with a dark cream head. Yeast and oak aroma with light bourbon. Yeast and malt flavor with light banana and light spice. Medium bodied. Yeast and malt lingers with light banana and light spice. iowaherkeye (2703) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - NOV 2, 2013
Tap at Newport Pizza in OB. Hazy medium orange golden with a one finger off-white head, fair retention. Reminds me of Allagash Curieaux, which is not a bad comparison. Has less of the hot Jack Daniels boozy notes, though. Fruity yeasty pear, tinge of citrus, moderate caramel and even some light grape, bourbon barrels and a bit of vanilla oak backing. Flavor follows, good amount of pear, nice desserty creme brulee bourbon vanilla caramel notes. No hops to speak of. Semi-dry with bitterness peaking at a 2.not too barrely, as a few of their offerings have been. Pretty tasty. I like it more than Curieaux.

Tap: murky orange-amber pour with just a dash of a white head. Aroma is bourbon with some tart cherry to start, warms up to show some caramel and toast. Flavor is again initially all bourbon, but changes as it warms to a more pleasant toffee, orange rind, cherry, a slight yeasty note, and toast. This beer grew on me. I was not a fan at first, but with warmth came good flavors but still a lot of heat, kind of a carbonated manhattan. toxichop (597) - South Gate, California, USA - SEP 19, 2013
S: Light grains, bananas, pears and apples, a nice oak presence, vanilla and light bourbon. P: Deep copper, with a light fuzzy white head. T: A begian pale at first but the bourbon quickly takes over. Light grains, pale maltsm some sweet apples, banana and caramel. The oak then comes into play with some heavy bourbon and brown sugar. M: Light body and light carbonation. O: Pretty interesting brew and easy to drink even though it was a bit boozy and the bourbon was heavy. dwyerpg (6062) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 6, 2013
Aroma is initially fruity, but later the bourbon comes on long & strong. This is interesting. Lots of fruit, mostly orange but tons of bourbon as well and a bit of old paint feel as well. An ever-changing beer, which changes my opinion from sip to sip. Overall, quite tasty, just a tad too noticeable in alcohol content. htnicholas (50) - California, USA - AUG 1, 2013
Very fruity with overtones of banana and cherries and caramel. The head had a definite bourbon aroma and taste. Not much head lifetime or
Resilience but it's a really complex barley wine style golden ale.

Golden orange pour with a white head. Banana, pear, and apple on the nose. Lots of sugar, alcohol, and some vanilla. Bourbon, brown sugar, and oak. Big time bourbon flavor. Booze, oak, vanilla, and brown sugar. Caramel, banana, apple, and pear. Intensely sweet and a bit on the hot side, but not bad.
