COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pugachev Royale is a more developed version of Cobra. We added cacao nibs and vanilla beans to a select few barrels of Pugachev’s Cobra during its eight months in Bourbon Barrels, then transferred it to brandy barrels for an additional 10 months of aging. Royale displays sweet, ripe fruit notes doused with incredible chocolate aromatics. This is a truly decadent beer to be saved for a special occasion, and will evolve in the cellar for years to come. Approximately 400 hand-numbered 11.2 oz bottles will be available in the Tasting Room only. Purchases of Royale will be limited to one per guest.
2013: 14.8% ABV

2017 bottle. Nose of bourbon and brandy, oak, chocolate, light coffee. More barrel in the nose, more balance in the flavor, especially the sublime aftertaste. It lingers and made this one the winner over the coffee almond Puga, which smelled better.

Everything you would expect from Pugachev's Cobra with the added brilliance of additional aging in brandy barrels. Strong, yet smooth.

355 ml bottle at home, v2015, 13.5% ABV, bottle 1036/1404. Black color with small brown bubbly head that quickly disappears. Malty aroma, roasted, too much alcohol in the beginning but after some time this faints, chocolate, caramel, licorice, vanilla, some dark dried fruits, wood, alcohol again. Sweet and light bitter taste, alcoholic like aroma. Full silky oily body with soft carbonation.

Release 2016: 14.3%abv. Pours black opaque with foamy brown head which transforms itself to a ring around the glass. Aroma: intense roasted grain , dark malts with dominant chocolate note, cocoa, vanilla bourbon and sherry-like alcohol.. Flavor is very similar: roasted grain, supported with chocolate notes of malts, cocoa, vanilla, molasses, vanillin, tobacco, bourbon, sherry ( brandy), etc. Body is thick, carbonation is low, texture velvetly. Fuck it..

September 18, 2015. Bottle, 2014 vintage, received in a trade, thanks!

Black with a small slightly frothy brown head. Aroma is intense malty and holds lots of barrel notes with bourbon, brandy, dried fruits, caramel, vanilla, charred oak, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and warming alcohol. Taste is
mediums sweet, bitter roasted and slight boozy. Finish is a bit salty bitter with roasted notes, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, sweet caramel, vanilla, some dried fruits and port wine notes and warming brandy and bourbon. Full bodied, soft carbonation, oily creamy texture with a quite dry finish.

Very nice intense BA stout, a bit dry finish, could have don with a slightly creamier and rounder ending.
