COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich, decadent and full-bodied. The intense, roasted malt flavor is derived from two types of chocolate malt and raw cocoa nibs. Whole vanilla beans introduced post-fermentation adds complexity and enhance the dessert-like qualities.
As depicted on the label, this full-bodied beer salutes American pilots who airdropped packages of chocolate into post-WWII Berlin, bringing joy and community together in the face of adversity. Weve partnered with Food For The Hungry who we consider to be the chocolate bombers of today, delivering regular food rations and non-food items to the struggling people of South Sudan who are in desperate need.

From a growler, thanks to JoetheYounger. Pours ebony with a tall khaki head. Rich nose of caramel and cocoa. As it warms a soft licorice and vanilla note bring out complexity. Some definite diacetyl, but not off putting with the chocolate flavors. Finish has some perceived dryness from the cocoa powder notes. Body is heavy and smooth, nice creamy texture enhances the chocolate notes. Maybe a touch on the bitter side and could use a bit of black malt for some grit, but a really tasty porter none the less.

Awesome aroma, and nice, dark appearance too. Chocolate, malt and a hint of vanilla in every sip. I really enjoyed this, from a bottle in my cellar. Now I need another. Well done.

Bottle from Key Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is chocolate cereal, vanilla, roasted malts. Taste is slightly tangy with creamy vanilla and slightly artificial cocoa kids cereal vibes. A bit too much vanilla, artifice and not enough umph! for an Imperial Porter.

(Tap) clear, bright, very dark brown colour with a small beige head; aroma of roast, milk chocolate; smooth palate; sweet flavour with a long, light bitter finish

I feel Hangar 24 is highly underrated. In the case of their chocolate porter it makes the A-list. The appearance is a rich dark brown to near black color with a creamy light tan head. The aroma is bakers chocolate, earth, vanilla, and roasted grain. On the taste I get bitter cocoa, lubricated by vanilla with a long and strong bitter robust finish.

One of my favorite all-time beers! Tasty to the max, full-flavored, easy to drink and enjoy porters. All the flavors of chocolate, vanilla and banana are easily recognizable. Just a really good beer to enjoy.

hazy sepia, thin white ring. Dusty grain and banana ester nose, heavy peppery brightness. Burnt chocolate sweetness up front with sticky papery oxidation mid before the muted, watery brown malt finish.

Bottle. Dark brown, very clear with small head and pretty nice lacing. Aromas of chocolate, rosted malts and coffee, could have been stronger... Medium body with pleasant oily mouth feel. In taste rosted malts and coffee with bitterness in finish. Some sweet, vanila in the background. Very drinkable for its 8%.
