22oz Bottle. Thanks for sharing, Emeline. Spicy melded nose of prickly zesty hops and rind. Nice amber color. Flavors are solid. Softened and mellowed. Integrated. This is a really clean and smooth brew. It’s a great hop variety to work with and the across the board complexity makes it a fun brew. Green. User134089 (1644) - - MAR 1, 2012
Poured from a 22-oz. bomber into a pint glass. Color was caramel amber. About a finger of head. White circular lacing on the top with smallish bubbles. Good amount of white film on the sides.
Smelled citrusy, piny hops up front. Very refreshing. Got kind of a peach, grapefruit zest. Sweet caramel in there as well.
Tasted pretty similar to the nose. Refreshing is right. Good balance with not as much bitterness as I’d thought. More lemon on the smell than peach or grapefruit.
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Short, bitter finish.
Good start to this beer, but I was expecting a bit more, especially with the look. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - FEB 27, 2012
Big ups to Saarlander for sending this as part of Secret Santa! Handsome bright orange pour, clean looking and with a moderate carbonation, velvety head. Nose is understated fruity and leafy hops. The taste was crisp, dry, and quite refreshing but, while this was a more than solid IPA, I found myself wanting some additional flavors to balance out the herbal, leafy qualities I was getting from this particular single hop. thome50 (1295) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - FEB 24, 2012
Draft at Bru. Pours an amber to orange with no visibility and a white head that lasts. Aroma is sweet grapefruit/citrus but not overpowering. Taste is extremely earthy. Like drinking some fresh spring dirt in the best way possible. Overall, a really surprising IPA and one i’ll check out in the future if it remains in fresh bottles. Appearance: Pours a moderately hazed, copper-gold body with a smallish, white head.

Smell: Though monohopped, Columbus IPA still manages to deliver a bright citrus fragrance of lemon and orange blossoms with addition florals and a very scant spiciness overlaying light, servile bready malts.
Taste: Sweetish crisped sugars atop bready, lightly biscuity base malts. Then, ripe citrus fruits and fairly potent florals with a medium degree of bitterness. The flavor bandies lightly sweetness and bitterness until the dry, soft finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation, though fairly soft.
Overall: Neither overpowering, nor is it really lacking; an all-around solid IPA.
22 oz bottle. Hazy amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel, grass and pine. Flavor of sweet caramel malt, medium bitter hops and light cereal grain. Medium body with average carbonation and a sticky, sweet mouth feel. Overall a solid IPA, a bit on the sweet side for me though. alexsdad06 (10818) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - FEB 2, 2012
22 oz. bottle from Hophead22. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a medium plus off white head. The nose has a big fruity citrus component, grapefruit, with a base of toasted bread and caramel malts. The flavor doesn’t have the same fruity burst as the nose. Grapefruit pith, earthy, pine, decent bitterness with toasted caramel dipped bread. Good body and mouth feel. A pretty solid IPA. Beerlando (3343) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Bomber. The pour yields a hazy, dark, dusky brownish-orange body with a thick, frothy, beige tinted head. Pronounced, bubbly lacing clings hard to the glass, fading into a dense edge around the surface. The nose is quite bright, fresh, and hoppy, showing notes of grapefruit pith, lemon rind, and pine over a base of caramelized and toasty bread grain. If I close my eyes I get a hint of rye as well. Flavors are biting and pithy, quite bitter in fact, again showing loads of grapefruit pith, grass, and resin. Malts are prominent as well, quite bready and biscuity, bouncing back and forth between sweet and dry. The palate is moderate in body and carbonation, dragging across the palate a bit and finishing with lingering sticky hops. Overall, a nice IPA, but it has its share of flaws. On tap at The Bruery Provisions bar and store. Cloudy yellow body with a good soapy head. The IBU is up there, but its just OK to drink. Competent for the style.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear dark copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus and earthy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where exceeded.
