From dark shade ruby,no head,sweet,this is a really good wine barrel age beer for me since most of those beer I do not like.
Sample at the taproom. Murky reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes gradually. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of vine fruits, malt and oak. Poured 1-to-2 fingers of brown, mahogany, murky color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki tan, rocky head.
Could see light bubbles on the top, but that’s it. Minimal lacing on the sides of the glass. Minimal retention on the top. (Sight - 3.25)
Smelled boozy dark berries - raspberry, blackberry, boysenberry - plums, purple (red) grapes, oak, light white wine, apple cider, cherry and some red wine notes. (Smell - 3.88)
Tasted at least as good as the nose. Really like this. Getting dark berries as in raspberries, boysenberries and cherries. Also toasty malts, plums, slightly sour purple (red) grapes, brown sugar, apple cherry cider and vanilla oak. (Taste - 3.88)
Medium body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.25)
I really liked this beer. Would love to have it again. (Overall - 4.00)

Bottle thanks to Will. Pours a dark amber with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is oak and strong grape. Medium mouth nice caramel, grape, oak, light booze, very good.

7 mar 2015, bottle. Ruby. Nose is soft bananas and bready alcohol. I don’t smell any grapes. Med body and moderately fizzy. Once again I taste wet banana bread rather than grapes. The longer I drink this te closer I get to tasting something like grape jelly. Alcohol isn’t prominent but it is malty and sweet. Nice enough. Bottle. Pours cloudy chestnut, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is rich caramel, toffee, some vinous qualities, a bit of oakiness, dark fruits. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, a fair amount of acidity, sharp, vinous, dark sugars and dried fruits, oak tannins, grapevines, a bit earthy. Pours a clear and deep red with a touch of foam around the edges. Primarily a sherry type aroma with some sweetness from the malts. Medium body. The wine and light fruit flavors dominate the profile and much of the old ale becomes lost. Too me, this was more of a carbonated wine than grape enhanced beer.
