See black color, head settled off. Alcohol is noticeable on the aroma with chocolate and roast character. Chocolate and strong booze flavors moderately roasty and chocolately. Booze is a bit on the strong side compared to the other flavors.
Notes: On tap at Aces and Ales Oaktoberfest. '14 vintage in '16.

From notes. Enjoyed this one over at Chris’s house on March 26 for a beer and smoked meats get together. Chris opened this gem of a 750 mL bottle. The pour is black. It seems to be a little thinner with a nice cap of light brown head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is big on the bourbon. This one is incredibly boozy. There is a great resounding dark fruit, nice dark malts, and a little vanilla and chocolate on the end. There is a nice char on the finish, but I’m really missing out on the maple. I wish it were a little more prominent. The flavor is packing lots of heat. There is a monster bourbon and a strong vanilla and charred oak right up front. The malts follow through with a light chocolate and a pretty decent dark fruit complexity. This thing is a beast. The mouth feel is a little lighter (no doubt due to the booze) and carries a nice soft carbonation to help it out. The aftertaste is lingeringly roasty and chocolatey with a nice bourbon zing. It’s an intense beer for sure. Good though. Needs more maple.
Very boozy. Nice bourbon. Not of char. Lots of heat. Damn beernbourbon (1613) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - JAN 2, 2016
Bottle shared by Brandon. Pour is black with a small ring of tan foam. Aroma Is basement smells and roasted malt with distance vanilla. Smells old. Flavor is outrageously bourbon forward. Like a glass of neat bourbon. Lots of alcohol and lots of vanilla, wood, and alcohol. Some roasted malt and chocolate in there too but way overshadowed by liquor. Out of balance. Tastes like good stout with a shot of good bourbon in it. Both are nice but the combo does not do it for me

Bottle sampled at Mark’s gigantic tasting. Pours an opaque brown color with no head. The aroma suggests tequila barrel aging, with a drier, more cutting booze and sharp oak notes. The flavor is more on point as far as bourbon barrels, with charred oak, cocoa, vanilla, mild roast, burnt sugar, and warming bourbon. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, oaky, warming mouthfeel. Nice barrel treatment. bursprak (3282) - Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 29, 2015
Bottle at Dangerous Bottleshares WHLZBRZ edition. Black pour with a tan head. Notes of bourbon, dry, ashy, tar, prunes, vanilla and some bitter chocolate.

Bottle @ Dangerous Bottleshares WLZBRZ edition. thanks to Zakoon. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma of vanilla, big bourbon notes, caramel, roasted malts, dark fruits, caramel and some bright chocolate. The taste is very bourbon forward with a tad hot approach (You feel the high ABV) then follows all the sweet components from the aroma. A nice bourbon stout but very extreme. A sipper indeed. Bottle thanks to Zakkon at Dangerous Bottleshares WHLZBRZ edition. Pours a pitch black with a small, tan head. Aroma is really powerfull! Bourbon, gunpowder, corn sweetness, roasty malts, strong boozy. Taste is fairly sweet, but mostly dominated by chocolate and caramel, roasted malts, bourbon and not-sweet prunes. Really intense, and surprisingly dry! Sticky body with a boozy finish and a low carbonation. fonefan (53745) - VestJylland, DENMARK - OCT 27, 2015
