Hansa is brewed in true pilsener style, using the finest Saaz hops. Specially imported from the Czech Republic, these hops are responsible for Hansa’s unique hoppy aroma and, most importantly, combine with the pilsener style of brewing to make Hansa crisp and flavoursome.

Light refreshing pilsener. Pale colour, medium bitterness. Nothing special, but one of my preferred ’commercial’ South African beers.

Lore (2993) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 8, 2017
courtesy of a colleague and friend - many thanks! very pale yellow colour, minimal white head, which disappears promptly; aroma and taste of grains, some cardboard, metallic as well as hints of herbal-grassy notes; quite watery, but not that bad

Scopey (16277) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 3, 2016
Bottle in Cape Toon, BA lounge. It pours clear golden with a decent foamy white head. The aroma is fairly subdued... bit of white bread, mellow sweetness, straw and soda water. The taste is crisp, clean, quite watery, soda water, straw, grass and slight metallic vibe with a dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. very light and watery. Bland, but inoffensive stuff.

kermis (14999) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 29, 2016

Skarecrow (1050) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 9, 2016
330ml bottle. Aroma is all wet cardboard. Pale straw color with OK head. OK bitterness is followed by more wet cardboard. A more fresh sample might have helped. Otherwise, another generic lager. Ho hum.
