Draught at Pigalle. Quite fruity and estery, round mouthfeel, apricot, orange, rice, fairly dry finish. Interesting stuff, these guys seem to head in the right direction recenlty.

Tap at Pigalle. Thanks for sharing Davido! Fairly clear brown with a one-finger head that lingers throughout. Sakura, bread, koji, bark and peach on the nose. Medium body with average carbonation. Nice, lightly funky character. Very unique beer with character. Would definitely drink again.

Draught at Beer Komachi. Murky gold, good carbonation, bubbly head. Sweet fruity aroma, noticeably sake-like. Sake is present in the flavour, but not overbearing. Very little hops, but nice bitterness to balance it.

Nicely hazy, small layer of foam, looks pale. Aroma is sweet, tropical fruits and honey. Well balanced. Nice bitter note also clearly there. Taste is nice and round, sake’s impact is clearly there but it is not too big. Homeycomb and something raw and bitter also there. Less sweetness as I would expect from the aroma. Exciting but also drinkable, would even have it again.

On tap at the GJBF in Osaka 2014. A slightly cloudy light copper gold. 5% 18 IBU thick yeasty spicy sweet aroma, kind of full on. Medium bodied, soft and smooth. The taste is sweet & yeasty reminiscent of a weizen with soft clove spicy notes. Not that complex but ok.

Tap at ibrew. Very light, fruity, sherbert. Light malt. Bit of sweetness but not overbearing. Surprised. Good stuff. Aroma is apple and melon. I liked this.

KyotoLefty (11124) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 1, 2009
Draught at the brewpub. Light orange weizen-like color with a fine, thick head. Dry, yeasty aroma, seems like their might be wheat in there. Sweet, light flavor. Fruity, with citrus, rice, and a sake-like flavor. Dry, slightly bitter finish. Original and interesting, with a strong sake accent. Decent, but not my style.

Tasted @ GJBF Yokohama: Light hazy gold, light head and lacing. Nose of light malt, some clean light hop and some odd fruit and musk. The flavor is creamy and pale, some sweet malt and a light raw rice finish. Just a hint of sake notes, but still a fun experiment to try.

Capa (3804) - GUAM - SEP 22, 2007
@ GJBF 2007. Interesting yeast aroma, slight hops, malts, fruits, and some spice. Flavor is a little weizen, but the sake yeast shows through and really sets it off. Fruity and a little bit of sweet malts. Very different. Definitly gets some points for creativity. I’d like to have it again.
