Rami Rami is drinking an Oudbeitje by Hanssens Artisanaal at Powiśle Nie pasuje mi. Octowe. Agresywne. Dzikusy oborowe. Truskawki na granicy percepcji. Mocno kwasne. Przegiete. Ekstremalne. Sciaga usto. E

Semi-hazy peach pour, with no head. Completely still. Notes of strawberry jam, funky cheese, apple vinegar, barnyard funk. Really sour and acetic, very fruity as well. Can't drink this too fast, but it is quite interesting overall.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 1/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear golden amber color with minimal head retention or lacing. Some slight clinging bubbles on the side of the glass. Good appearance. Aromas of big tart/sour lemon, lime, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, green apple, peach, apricot, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, leathery/musty funk, wheat, cracker, slight white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, strawberries, oak, and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/sour lemon, lime, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, green apple, peach, apricot, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, leathery/musty funk, wheat, cracker, slight white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic sourness and light oak spice/fruit tang on the finish. Lingering notes of sour lemon, lime, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, green apple, peach, apricot, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, leathery/musty funk, wheat, cracker, light vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, strawberries, oak, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a nice malt/sourness balance. Increasingly puckering and drying, but not overly astringent on sourness. Minimal carbonation and light-medium body; with a smooth, acidic/grainy, and lightly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is a very nice fruit lambic. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, strawberries, oak, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink; despite the increasingly lactic/drying finish and minimal carbonation. Classic Hanssens wild funk with a nice helping of juicy strawberries and oak; with a solid malt backbone. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Bottle. Orange, little bit hazy, completely flat with no even sign of head. Strong funky and farmyard aromas, no strawberries noticed. Taste is just sour, with some light sweet notes, little bit oily mouthfeel, light to medium body. Pretty drinkable but far from expectations.

Tiring like hell, absolutely still (no carbonation at all), vinegarish through mouthfeel to long finish. Raspberries only in the color. Shame.

PhillyCraft (7707) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 21, 2017
Backlog, Bottle, amber color with a minimal head and light lacing. Nose is cheese, vinegar, dust, and acidic sour fruit. Flavor was more tomato then strawberries, cardboard, leather, and lemon skins. Has a lasting but not pleasant finish.

Zlotta (3722) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - AUG 20, 2017
0.375 l bottle from ’Rudat’, best before August 2034, cellared for one year. Clear, amber, no head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, rather funky and quite fruity aroma of strawberry, rhubarb, horseblanket, straw and vinegar. Slightly sweetish, quite sour, funky and quite fruity taste of lots of vinegar, strawberry, rhubarb, lemon, horseblanket, oak and a touch of glue, followed by a medium long, rather tart, dry and funky finish. Thin to medium body, quite astringent mouthfeel, absolutely flat. Not really enjoyable, way too sharp and a bit off as well. Very disappointing!
