As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

375 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Hazy yellow with white head. Fruity, funky sour with citrus. Dry, high acidity with medium to high carbonation. Nice.

Citrus in the smell and taste. Sour aftertaste that fills the front part of the mouth for a moment. Good beer, but the taste will disappear quickly. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Aroma is citrusy with barnyard notes and a touch of sweet cloudberries actually. Taste starts out rather sweet, a deeper sweetness as ripe sweet apples but with a tart cloak. Evolves into a tart ending, light vinegar with dry grape skins in the end.

Bottle from Simply Local, Burntwood. Slightly hazy golden beer with medium head. Great carbonation. Aroma is funky, cheese and some fruit. Taste is some sour vinegar, a touch of sweetness, funky, white grape and puckering. Excellent.

Barwa złota, piwo klarowne. Aromat średnio-intensywny, dziki (stajnia, skisłe siano) i owocowy, dużo kwaśnych winogron, niedojrzałych jabłek. W smaku wytrawne, z minimalną owocową słodyczą. Kwaśność wysoka, cytrusowa z minimalnie octowymi posmakami. Finisz cierpki, lekko taninowy, jak niedojrzałe papierówki, z lekko gryzącymi octowymi nutami.

GoufCustom (2404) - HONG KONG - MAR 29, 2018

375 ml cork bottle opened with very loud 'pop' bought at HKBWEX in Mong Kok.

Looks:Translucent straw golden with a ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; Three fingers head with soapy foams which lasts for 2 minutes; Fair sticky lacing with fizzy carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant and tart malt, with strong grapes, grape skins, very strong yoghurt, strong malt vinegar, leaves, light red wine, strong funk, strong spices, tannin, barrel, biscuits and lemon.

Taste: Fairly strong sour malt, with fair grape skins, light red vinegar, yoghurt, strong funk, barnyard, spices, moderate tannin, light biscuits and lemon.

Body: Close to light body. Thin and fairly slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Good maltyness in a thin, highly fermented background. Most of the Gueuze's characters such as yoghurt, red vinegar, grape skins, etc. are present and notable but in a pretty subtle way, unlike some big name Gueuzes which come in full-blasts. Very funky-spicy, light biscuity with strong lemon to round. Nice!

Astringency: Strong grapes, grape skins and lemon in nose and taste; Tannin is moderate for an abrupt, fair astringent sour malty finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Funky and slightly winey to mouth.

Comments: Unlike most Gueuzes with full-on sour, red wine characters, this one has a rather subtle touch on grapes and red vinegar. The strong funk manages to light up an otherwise meek tart tastes. It is neither immense nor complex, but like a fine breeze, easy to drink without losing its way. Perfect for Summer!

PowY (1338) - AUSTRIA - MAR 11, 2018
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2018 375 ml bottle at home, bb. 7.8.2034. Pours a clear golden with a large frothy but quickly disappearing white head. Aroma of brett with tart and sour berries, green apples, leather, hay, light citric notes, some wood. Very nice smell. Medium body with a medium carbonation, a light sourness and a light tartness. Relatively mild flavor of green apples, sour berries and light citric notes followed by a tart woodiness. Finishes dry with more wood and tartness. Liked the smell more than the flavor, still refreshing.

Lots of fruits, both green and yellow apples, gooseberries and mandarin. Nice long living tartness that builds up during the finish. Quite dry but could have been more carbonated.

Tinco (663) - Linköping, SWEDEN - MAR 10, 2018
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2018 A good example of a geuze. Tart sour apples with barnyard funk. Really refreshing and tasty!
