As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

Into a flute. Half finger of head. Strawberry colored body with lots of bubbles. Looks pretty. Smells like fresh fruits, mostly apples. Wow taste. Starts a little sweet, then quickly moves to a dry sour and bitter taste. Quick ending. Crisp and fizzy texture. My first of this style so I am not sure what they are supposed to be like. However, I enjoyed this.

Bottle shared at beeroda tasting session. Nose is raspberry and/or apple vinegar. Strong sourness, but also very fruity. Some coconut in the middle. No bitterness at all. Very exciting, but too much vinegar for me.

vinivini (2665) - Gomel, BELARUS - SEP 7, 2017
Cloudy honey. Small head. The nose is very fruity. Acidic apples. Minor barnyard, horse blanket. Light body. Medium fruity sourness on initial taste. The ending is tart with notable oak and light bitterness. Very nice.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2017 Bought @Willems. Bottled 2016, drank it august 2017. Very young and crisp. Barnyard and horse blanket in aroma. Heavy carbonation. Very robust and thorough taste. Wild. Citrus, fresh grass. Very funky. Saliver provoking palate. Very nice yeast in aftertaste.

A proper gueze. Nice horse ass with some hay and other stableish leather aroma. A bit carbonated, gold and wild. A fine sour mid taste to tart finish. Cool one.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2017 Another great Oude Gueuze. I've been trying 5 different brands not too far apart. This one is more malty and slightly less acidic then the other ones. There's also a bit more oak. It's highly complex as they all are. outstanding!

Bottle. Dark golden, almost clear with medium, white and not very solid head, almost no lacing. Fresh and pleasant sour, lemon, white wine and, of course, barnyard aromas. Taste is slightly sour, with pleasant light sour mouthfeel. Light to medium body, right carbonated, very drinkable. Very good!

Pite jakiś czas temu. Mój pierwszy lambic. Piwo to zrobiło na mnie ogromne wrażenie. Aromat umiarkowanie intensywny, świeży, owocowy. W smaku bajka: mkcna kwaśność i prawie żadnej kontry. Lekka dzikość, trochę białych owoców, ale kwas dominuje! W dobie mocno przekombinowanych piw warto sięgnąć po takiego odjechanego klasyka!

0,375l bottle at home. BB 07.08.2034. golden clear color, quite big white head. smells very cheesy, earthy, green apples, bit grassy. very nice smell. medium body, rather bubbly carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes cheesy, citric, grassy, green apples, some wood. finishes dry and lightly sour and medium bitter with notes of green apples, citrus and some cheese. not bad, liked the smell a bit better, rather sharp on the finish, not the biggest fan of the balance on the taste, but overall still rather enjoyable.
