COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

bhensonb (15621) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 14, 2008
375 ml bottle. Aroma is about equal funk and light stone fruit. Copper gold color with white smear for head. Medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is sour fruit, yeast and wood. Finish is astringently dry. Tart isn’t in it! One of the more pleasant Geuzes I’ve enjoyed.

3.9
Scopey (15500) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2011
A dusty bottle from Nelson Wines. It pours hazy golden yellow, with pretty much no head. The nose is farmyard, wheat, cinnamon, nutmeg, sour apple and chamomile. The taste is tart lemon, sour green apple, white grape, orange pith, light spice and warming alcohol, with a long tangy-tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Juicy tartness, well balanced and complex.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is sour fruit vinegar and strong funk. Thin mouthfeel with sweet fruit and light vinegar with very tart finish. Easy to drink, a very good gueuze.

Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 1, 2006
Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Unclear amber - white head. Wood grape, sweet, sour....lovely gueuze, but a rather smoot and "creamy" feeling compaired io other gueuzes i have tasted.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2013 Re-rate 11/13: Bottle sample at a sour tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks zvikar. 2012 bottle. Clear golden. Aroma of oak, barnyard, leather, lemony notes and manure hints. Sour flavor, oaky, leathery and lemony, with a bit of fruity sweetness and a finish with lemon peel bitterness. 8/3/8/3/17=3.9

Re-rate 3/5/11: Bottle at Kulminator in Antwerp. Almost clean golden with a quickly-diminishing white head. Wonderful citric, somewhat sweaty, wild yeast aroma. Sour flavor with some citric notes. Medium-bodied. A good quaffable Gueuze. 8/3/8/4/16=3.9

(2/28/08) Bottle at Staminee de Garre in Bruges. Best before 8/2027. Hazy golden with a collapsing white head. Barnyard, citrus and some wood in the aroma. Sour fruity flavor with some sweetish hints of sugary residue. Medium-bodied. Some more cellar time wouldn’t hurt but already very pleasant and refreshing when rather young. 8/3/8/3/16=3.8

Tmoney99 (14856) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 12, 2007
Bottle corked. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour yeasty aroma. Medium body with a dry texture. Medium sour citrus flavor with a medium sour finish of moderated duration. This is a standout for style beer.

kermis (14493) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear golden with a white head. Funk and horse blanket full on in the aroma along with super tart citrus fruits. Flavour is heavy sour, not subtle at all, and with a real dry finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation.
