As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

Cellared less than a year at the brewery. Slightly hazy orange with a minimal white head. The aroma has a rather "clean" funkiness (perhaps well-defined is a better word considering the circumstances) of barnyard and mud with some pleasant notes of fruits and lemony acidity. The funkiness gets more pronounced after a while. The taste is tart and refreshing with a decent amount of funk. Pleasant notes of sour fruits and berries. Hints of oak and grass. The finish is mildly bitter and nicely dry with a faint hint of minerals. Very good. Moderate body, medium levels of carbonation. A good one. Very refreshing and fairly complex. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

375mL bottle. Pours golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma is sharp; funk, hay, light white wine, some minerals, light lemon, grapefruit, a little oak, and barnyard. Taste is sour; grapefruit, funk, oak,, white wine, minerals, cobwebs, stone fruit, and some vinegar. Musty, mineral finish. Acidic. Very dry. Light-medium body. High carbonation. Effervescent mouthfeel.

Clear golden pour with a thin off-white head that disappears quite quickly. Notes of citrus, grapefruit, barnyard funk (the poopy kind), mouldy barrel, minerals, unripe stonefruit. Funky and wild, kind of dry, decently sour.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2017 Gul og klar, stort set uden skum. Fantastisk aroma af lambic: funky og citrus. Syrlig og fyldig. Abrikoser. Ret flad, uden det gør noget dårligt. Solid geuze.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2017 Bottle. Hazy golden pour minimal offwhite head. Aroma has hay and barn. Very mild yeast. Taste is balanced with mild sour notes. Ends with citrus. Light body. Medium carbonation

2015 vintage. Pours golden with some white head. Aroma is brutal gueuze funky barnyard madness. Taste is tart, vinegary, earthy. Best part is the finish which is still tart but almost like a pineapple. Really enjoyable, I liked it a lot.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2017 Getting a taste for the sour beers now . Little head , low carbonation sharp medium sour taste

martpez (370) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2017
Cloudy orange bright sparkling and carbonated. Farm house funk followed by a sharp tartness that tickles the end of the tongue then a matured dryness that lingers revealing layers of woody complexity. This is really something special. From a style that continues to intrigue and impress me. Sharp and intensely dry.

Bottiglia 37,5 cL, @ Valhalla Pub, Pavia. Al naso è davvero molto complessa, spiccano sentori di cuoio, fieno, muffa e agrumi. In bocca è acda, secca e aspra. Selvatica.
