33cl bottle at home (13 II 2016), shared with the Meetjeslandse Bierproevers. This is one of my favoute old krieks, way less lambic styled as for example the Boon brews. It has an unbelievable good scent. The taste is like a young Cote du Rhone wine, with lots of sweet sour notes. The body is fairly heavy with a massive wood character. Sour wine and sour grapes are omnipresent, in combination with sour red berries (red currants). What a nose, what a body, what a character! Kiezmar (645) - Kraków, POLAND - MAY 11, 2016

Hanssens Artisinal’s Oude Kriek 6%
Pouring an orange rose with a sour cherry, lightly oaky and earthy funkiness in the aroma. Smells like it’ll be interesting.
Oaky, black pepper funk and ascerbic cherries with a light acidity on a bright drinkable body.
I like it, it’s edgy enough without getting too extreme plus it is reasonably priced. wlf (589) - DENMARK - FEB 22, 2016
dark red w/ small fast disappearing head, a lot of barnyard funk, sour smell, some cherry and spices, full thick mouthfeel, average carbonation, very sour, some sweetness, no bitterness, taste of cherries, barnyard, brett, some wood and citrus Zlotta (3278) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - JAN 25, 2016
0.375 l bottle from ’belgiuminabox’, best before August 2027. Clear, deep red, no head. Sourish-fruity, slightly funky aroma of sour cherries, redcurrant, sweat, bitter almond and oak. Sourish-fruity, slightly funky taste of sour cherries, redcurrant, oak, a bit of varnish and elderberry, followed by a short, very tart, dry finish. Thin to medium body, spritzy and astringent mouthfeel, no carbonation. Due to the lack of any carbonation this feels a bit bland. Taste is still very intense and sour, especially in the finish, but it lacks a final kick. A bit of carbonation would have eased up the acidity as well. olsvammel (7225) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JAN 16, 2016
Bottle from a bottle shop in Belgium. Fruity and tart smell with cherries. Deep fruity taste, a bit salty with sour backbone. Nice! onceblind (9662) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 10, 2016
Murky dark cherry hue with a thin pink head. Earthy funky tart cherry nose, dark Belgian malts, sour yeast and wild earthiness. Big fresh cherry flavor, very bright, very clean with nice bright tart sour funk. Bit of strawberry throughout. Sweet cherry on the finish with a gentle touch of sour acidity.
