4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beautiful deep red color. With a creamy cherry red head. Funky and lemon zest aroma. Really nice. A sharp sour upfront and goes all the way down. Very good flavors. Really love the sour consistency.
Bottle shared at home. Dark red with no head, the head ran away to a less sour place. Battery acid, photo glue, faint hints of cooked sweet dark cherries, almond nutty woody notes. Borderline sour. Medium body and no carbonation. Cherry holocaust. Zure matjes kwadraat. No reason to keep this in high regard. mR_fr0g (13492) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2017

375ml cork and cage bottle at Bonningtons BYOB Vauxhall. As Hanssens Oude Kriek, 6.5%. Purple cloudy red, sparkling, no head at all. Aroma is varnish, plastic, nail varnish, sour cherry, crayons. Body is light with tingly carbonation. Taste is very tart, high acidity, tart lemon, faint cherry, vinegar and acid. Way too acidic. Acetone. Rough as hell and borderline undrinkable for me. At over £8 a bottle, this is a huge disappointment. Awful. (3-3-2-1-4=1.3) EvNa (498) - Ede, NETHERLANDS - SEP 15, 2017
Bottle. Bottled february 2017. Color: Bit hazy red, almost no head. Taste: Very nice balance between sour and sweet ripe cherry notes. After short time a more sour taste and mouthfeel. Full body, below medium carbonation. You can almost taste the effort, care and craft of the brewer on making this wonderful beer. And it should even get better in time, but I just couldn't resist to try it now...
I think you either love or hate the old 'kriek', but I definitely belong to the first group and do appreciate this beertype once in a while. And this beer is a really good one. GenDV138 (7699) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - AUG 22, 2017

Vintage 2007. ten years old lambick, 7 years in my beer cellar. 375ml half champagne bottle. Bez piany jak wino czerwone wytrawne bardzo ciemna bordowo-buraczana barwa. Kwasne octowe, ocet balsamiczny, nieco sliwki wegierki. Zdecydowanie wytrawne i bogato wisniowe piwo.
750ml bottle (thx, Alex G.!) shared with wife. Pours a reddish brown with a rose head. Aroma is cherry and balsamic vinegar. Similar taste. Too much balsamic in this one. MetalNHopHead (2182) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - JUN 21, 2017
Hanssens Oude Kriek is a brilliant example of the Belgian Fruit Lambic. Aroma reveals high levels of both funkiness and fruitiness. Pour is little darker than your average Kriek. Tart cherry, vinegar, sherry, and barnyard flavor notes. Dry, vinous, and acidic feel. I certainly would be tempted to save a bottle for a very long time and see how it matures. A- Cherry, pool water, tart.
A- Dark red color, clear liquid, light pink head.
T- Sour, tart, funky, cherry.
P- Light body, average texture, medium carbonation, tart finish.
O- 3 years aged before bottling and 2 years on the shelf. At 5 years this was pretty good. Can’t imagine if I actually held it for 30 years. Still a little to funky for me but good.
