Oude Kriek produced with handpicked Schaarbeekse krieks (sour cherries).

Oude lambiek is added right before bottling, which makes this beer different from the "Scarenbecca Kriek".

danlo (3481) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2018
375ml bottle. Pours dark red in colour with a thin pink head and aroma of cherry, vinegar, coconut. Taste is sour, cherry, balsamic vinegar, red wine, some funk and a coconut-like note. Slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, sour finish. Nicely drinkable.

carlom (128) - ITALY - MAR 10, 2018

PowY (1296) - AUSTRIA - FEB 16, 2018
375 ml bottle at home as Schaarbeekse Kriek at 6.5% ABV, bottled 02.2017. Pours a hazy, deep wine-red with a small pinkish white head. Intense aroma of sour cherries, sour berries, red currant, blueberries, some wood and some lightly musty notes - excellent smell. Medium body with a low carbonation and a medium-heavy sourness. Flavor of lots of sour cherries and sour berries, unripe red currant, citric acidity, light woody notes and vinegar. Finishes dry with a fruity tartness and more vinegar. Pretty sour with noticeable vinegar and only mild funk along with lovely fresh, fruity aromas. Really good.

Bottle. Elegant kriek very much on the fruity side, not as funky as it could but nice.

Antonio369 (271) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - FEB 6, 2018
375 ml bottle served in wine glass. Poured Burgundy red with no head at all and little to almost none carbonation. Aroma: sour cherries, oak wood, farmyard, Balsamico vinegar, green apples, lemon, tart, strawberries, wet leather. Taste: dry, sour cherries, green Apples, Balsamico vinegar, oak wood, lemon, Porcini mushrooms, strawberries, blueberries, wet leather, tart, sour, barnyard, wet earth, dry tannins, vinous, raisins. Medium body with a funky dry and a very, very teethclenching sour finish. Absolutely astonishing kriek...

wchesser (2190) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 25, 2018
Bottle 10+ years old. Very light carb. Lightly brownish red. Nose is pretty muted but some earthy cherry flesh and pits. Taste is fairly sour but not overly acetic. Flavor is same cherry elements as the nose with some balsamic. Good but fairly simple and short and not worth the high price.

MikeBeermaster (1225) - that shaggy maggot, POLAND - DEC 31, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2018 Horrible aroma of nail polish with some notes of vinegar sourness and artifical plastic cherry note. Deep red in the glass with a medium head. Taste is really sour with notes of nail polish and vinegar. One word: torment.

Scrumpy369 (1015) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 23, 2017
Bottle shared at tasting session. Nose is strong acetic notes, cherries, acetone. Taste has much more cherries and less acetic acid, but still strong present. Throat scraping acetic sourness. Nice cherries in the taste, but the acetic acid kills it for me.

RichTheVillan (8651) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2017
Bottle shared at Clink; beetroot red pour with a thin pink head, aroma has tart cherries and some red wine action, taste has sour cherries, almonds, hint of vanilla, funk, some woody fruit.

Iznogud (5072) - CROATIA - DEC 17, 2017
Bottle, 375 ml shared at MBR, Kiselo Druženje. Pours unclear ruby with pinkish white head. Cherries, funk, wood, vinegar especially in after. Medium bodied. was eager to try thins, expected a bit more.
