RERATE Stockholm Beer festival 2007. Brewed 061230. This is just amazing, one of the berrer barley wines I have tasted. Malty, fruity and well balanced... (Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Hazy amber, nice offwhite head. Malty, fruity aroma, nutty notes and quite alot of raisins. Vinous and also with some whisky and cognac notes. Malty, nutty flavor with fruits and some vanilla. Raisins and some floral notes. The brewer said he wanted this beer to mature for another year before being happy with it. I cant wait to taste it at the next festival...

330ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, Belgian yeast, cookie dough, light caramel, light toasted almond, and a hint of grain. Poured amber in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted around the edges. Hazy. Sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, Belgian yeast, light ripe fruit, slight alcohol, and cookie dough. Medium body. Average texture. Soft to average carbonation. Light to medium sweet, Belgian yeast, malt, slight fruit finish. 12.7%ABV is noticeable in the flavor.

33 cl bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid caramel copper colored with minimal head. Nose is fruit, caramel, old aley, with a taste of earthy brown sugary malt, figgy fruit, some vinous, old dank musty basement hints, backup hops, and some spirity notes. Complex and a bit astringent a times, this one reminds me of a 75/25 mix of something like Old Crusty or Insanity with Iron Hill Old Ale. Very nice.
