EerieDrinks (380) - Malm, SWEDEN - JAN 10, 2018
Vintage 2015, 10% ABV

1 finger beige head. Dark maroon coloured beer.

Aroma is butterscotch, charred oak, molasses, dates, hint of smoked meat and raisins at the back.

Taste is raisins, fig jam, hint of dates, a hint of apple cider vinegar, oak barrel, burnt sugar and a touch of peppery rye.

Mouthfeel is semi-sticky and intense with a close to perfect carbonation. Medium bitterness.

Overall: Such an exciting brew. Intense and full-on flavours, combined with a really nice mouthfeel. The french oak gives the beer really interesting notes and no two sips are exactly the same. Quite heavy on sweetness but the slight vinegary acidity balances it up pretty well. It drinks fairly easy despite all this so it's not a heavy brew, but you might need a rest from these flavours after a while.

Scent of oak barrels and some dark berries. Delicious taste of whiskey, oak bar, dark berries and a little dark malt. Exquisite bitterness that fills the mouth and eternity. Enjoyable beer! Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Deep chestnut brown pour with a thin tan head. Caramel, dried dark fruits & oak nose. Sweet, bitter, malty & fruity taste. Peppery oak. Light chat. Soft, round & tiny viscous mouthfeel. Good but the hop bitterness in combination with oak charcoal taste makes it lose a few points with me. Needs a little longer to mellow out.

Pours a very dark brown with a low tan head. Aromas of caramel, figs, dates, roasted malt, barrel character, oak, toffee, butterscotch. Taste is caramel with light oak and barrel character and quite a lot of toffee and butterscotch. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation and somewhat sticky.
